Final Position Saturday 27th April 2024

Beaten in the play-offs having finished 5th to 7th, for me. I really hope Hughes and the lads prove me wrong.

I expect many of our games will be tight affairs again. I hope we show more attacking intent. I hope our new signings off more pace at the back. I hope our full backs offer better deliveries on the overlap. I hope we offer more goals and drive from midfield and that we have better ball carriers and balance in midfield. I hope Lewis stays. I hope Walker stays fit. I hope Cooky has another 30 goal season. I hope Oliver comes good. I hope we have better end product from the other forward players…….. But that is a lot of hope for one club and from new signings recruited on free transfers in a division where more signings are naturally ‘miss’ than ‘hit’.

Prove me wrong, Chickens. Do it!

 

Well, my gut feeling is an improvement on last season. I think autos is very doable.

No. Just promotion will be fine though!

 

10-13 the division is to competitive and we don’t have the quality or the mental handle to deal with it. Goals will be our issue, that costs money to fix..
Something we don’t have and others do.

 

Before the start of last season, I felt we would need to finish top 3 to go up and I feel exactly the same about the coming season. If we aren't in the top 3 come the 27th April, it will be another year in league 2 imo.

 

I will cast my vote after I've been down for my first match of the season v Crewe.

 

At the start of every season I think, promotion confirmed in March and champions by Easter.
But by December reality has clicked in.

 

My thoughts entirely Tom, already got my Fiver on at 12-1.
We are now 14-1 and my cash out is £3.04p.
Not too promising a start.

 

Up as champions

 

I predicted 6th last season and it felt like we were stuck there all season, despite at times having games in hand against crap opponents.

Sp by no other logic than hoping we get stuck in the position I predict again, we’re ending 1st. Get the open top bus ready.

 

No higher than 10th

 

There is a definite improvement in the Squad with a couple more to come. There has also been an improvement in the division as well. The playing out from the back is going to hamper us. Don’t think we will trouble top three but should make the Play offs again.

 

9th

 

I believe Pattison is a key signing and his attacking threat alongside a generally taller squad will be the difference this season. Smith alongside Cook will give defences something to really fear.

Don't forget we have some loans to come in as well. The squad is definitely stronger and more experienced than last season.

I have voted for champions.

 

For those saying 9th, 10th or lower, what is it that makes you think we are weaker than last season when we finished 6th?

 

None of them would bet on that either, I have bet on us winning the league. I am confident we go up this season. We’ve kept our key players and improved in key areas where we were weak last season.

moving to a top two like most were clamouring for as well.

I genuinely cant name 3 decent sides nevermind 10. Everyone is scared of Wrexham and notts county but how is a side with chicksen in supposed to get promoted?

Only team thats recruited well I would say is stockport. Rest have done very little.
