East is so composed on the ball, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really rate him.

 

Nice for Bobby to get involved on that last goal. Good to see our young lads getting some minutes.

 

Enjoyed the day, a few beers with Rocket Ron who introduced me to Kraken Black Spiced Rum, a decent performance without reading too much into the result, just spoilt itself raining as we came out.

 

Would like to see a Pattison / Walker pairing, they'd tear the opposition to shreds!

Walker looked a class above anyone else on the pitch in either half tbh.
Agree about East and Oggy, also Pattinson and Osadebe from first half
and special mention to Pointon who was only on 10 mins but looks a prospect.

Just a shame Walked didn't finish that great bit of skill with a goal.

 

Stubbs seemed off the pace for me. Gilliead and East didn’t really get to grips with midfield as effectively as the first half. Thought the lad from Brentford did well too.

 

Agreed. Really hope he see's more game time this season.

Nice bonus watching that on you tube no real test but reasons for optimism as well as a couple of worries. The directness and running of Pattison the turn of pace of Smith and the fitness of Walker were stand outs for me. I think the system could be good as well the new wing back looked decent.
I just hate the playing out from the back though and if we continue with it we will struggle to achieve what we want. Should also mention Cook no matter what the level of the opposition that goal was a cracker

 

Also thought that the lad from Barnsley - Odour, was well off the pace. Didn't look at all comfortable.

 

Thought the two commentators today were class. Very fair and quite knowledgeable.

 

Interesting that he was tried as a wingback when he sees himself more of an attacker. Very early days but there were a few who hopefully started as they mean to go on. Spread that across the starting 11 and we’ll give ourselves a chance. It doesn’t matter who the opponent is, get into the right mentality from day 1.
