Agreed - but our all claret strips in the past have been awful. The one we had with Map Group on the front in 2008-ish was terrible. Maybe a claret strip would need better execution.

It’s unbelievably tinpot that we are still waiting for our new kit. This is something we always seem to be behind everyone else with. Sparks saying some are in the the country and some aren’t is equally as tinpot.

How is it the fault of the club if there has a delay in the shipping of the kits? A stupid thing to do would be to have all kit on 1 shipment and risk all of the kit getting lost. Man Utd only launched their kit yesterday, Grimsby have got the same delays we have. Other clubs that haven't released their kit so far from league 2 are Accrington, Forest Green, MK Dons, Salford, Stockport, Swindon and Tranmere so that's a third of the league who are yet to release their kit

Why does it matter? Its not like our fans will go out and buy other kits because they are available.

If you pick a crap supplier then you get these delays. I’m not saying it’s all the clubs fault but we are always one of the last to get our kit out
Accrington are with Macron - shock
Forest Green don’t do kits the same way we do due to being completely green
Stockport are taking longer due to celebrating their 140th birthday
Tranmere's is taking longer as it’s fan designed.
    What’s our excuse?

Why do we need an excuse? Not sure why there is a deadline when the kit release is done?

Why are Macron a bad supplier? The reason for the delay is a delay in shipping, that's not an excuse it's a fact. Do you monitor every clubs kit releases every season or are you just guessing we are one of the last every year?

Whilst there may yet prove to be delays, the Club has not yet failed to meet the target Ryan Sparks set of having the kit launched before the pre-season fixtures commenced.

Why is it tin pot if the kit isn't ready when you want it to be ? It will be ready when it's ready. As long as that is before the start of the season, what's the problem.

Worth remembering that Macron supplied the most teams last season out of the 92 in the EFL & PL with 14 clubs to manufacture. Wrexham coming up makes that 15 for the season. They've added Accrington but seems like they've lost Forest to Adidas. Forest asked to cancel their contract 2 years earlier to get a supplier to handle the increase demand.

    City: No kits yet.
    Accrington: No kits yet.
Sheff Weds: New home shirt was introduced and worn by the players on the open top bus parade.
Bolton: Home shirt was announced 5 days ago.
    Colchester: No kits yet.
Crystal Palace: New home shirt shown a month ago.
Gillingham: Revealed two weeks back with Jonny Williams.
    Oxford: No kits yet.
    Grimsby: No kits yet.
    Reading: No kits yet.
    Stevenage: No kits yet.
Stoke: Home shirt revealed over 3 weeks ago.
    Bristol Rovers: No kits yet.
Blackburn: No kits yet, expected to be shown July 3rd. Ordered 15,000 shirts for manufacture according to their press.
Wrexham: Home kits has been on sale for most of this month. By the end of January last season, Wrexham had sold over 24,000 new shirts for 22/23. Imagine that went up more by the end of the season, I'd safely guess that they will be Macrons largest order.

Only 6 of their 15 FL clubs have had a shirt reveal as of yet.

I think it was 1991/92 when these shirts were delayed:

We had to play one or two pre-season fixtures in a red and white version, as worn by Scarborough:

More important things to worry about, tinpot or not. I don’t see the rush tbh.

The new kit always used to be worn on the last home game of the season, back in the day.

I knew I'd seen a red and white version. I had this conversation a while back but no one else remembered it and I ended up convincing myself I must have been making it up!

I did think it had been used in a league game or two though so perhaps that's where the confusion took place.

As an aside, that blue kit was immense!
