Each to their own but one thing you can’t knock them for is ambition. Yes it’s manufactured but their owners are trying and highly competitive when it comes to attracting the best players.

 

Not down to ambition because I am certain we are the four clubs have owners who are prepared to lose big sums of money on their clubs.I don’t think we are to far behind them because we have become very good at raising money. We are an attractive club at this level and we shouldn’t always doing ourselves down

 

Nope no one will accept a contract that expires in January. That's pure madness.

 

They're trying - as you say

They're doing no better than us. They're certainly not attracting a higher calibre of player than us.

 

Or maybe,we can spend money we do not have and become like Wigan or Reading. Fail to pay our players or HMRC , have points deducted and get a winding up petition. The clubs you mention, are just having their moment in the spotlight.

 

Think that's more a reflection on Oliver 3 goals and 3 year contract.

I’m not trying to have a dog at the club here but it’ll probably sound like one. But how many clubs in the last say 4 years up and down the leagues have had promotions by being fully sustainable and that includes no investment into the academy(which also has the potential to eat into the budget if we don’t sell enough players) etc. it probably needs a separate thread but I bet there aren’t many these days. Sadly football is all about the money these days, you don’t get far without private investment which is why despite crowds and sponsorships we are still in league 2.

Such an extreme examples. Why don’t we make calculated strategic transfers that may cost an initial outlay be that a fee or higher wages wages? Could be an asset financially or in terms of helping the team. Why does have to be the normal journey men, injured cartel or players bombed out of other clubs.

Rupp once since been in charge gave the club an injection of cash in terms of boosting the budget, he feel asleep at the wheel and it was poorly spent he takes blame for that. However we can’t let that be a reason why he doesn’t invest in his business. Does not have to be extremes of Wigan or Bury god forbid. There is somewhere in the middle for smart investment and to be stronger than our rivals.

 

We had the budget and enough decent players for promotion last season. Unfortunately the football management failed to live up to expectations

 

Money helps but so does not picking duff managers over amd over again

 

Yet they are stuck in league 2 with us despite all the money thrown at them. Awful ground, no fans, nope definitely not envious of them

Money does help to hire the best managers and coaching staff who are in demand however, rather than ones on the way down or thinking all their Christmas’ have come at once.

You won’t get an answer… city fans as fantastic as they are are frightened to death of debt. Sustainability rhetoric the club peddles people see as massive a positive.

Who are the real winners having a self sustainable business with no investment in assets.

 

No our owners, CEO and other members of the Bradford City suits failed to live up to expectations.

 

To be fair it was a honest question not a criticism, I’m interested to know if there are any because I can’t think of one.

I actually think Sparks is doing a decent job, because ultimately he’s working for a foreign Julian Rhodes, it’s all spreadsheets and bottom lines so he’s doing well to be proactive and bring in more money. But ultimately it is near impossible without proper investment in the 21st century. Unless we strike lucky with a Parky again we’re unlikely to do any better than mid table league 1, even that is ambitious atm.
