What do Brentford fans think about it ? Bet most couldn’t give two hoots about it,he’s brought them success and that counts with most football fans.

It doesn’t tear down my argument, as my argument is we only spend what we generate. We are according to our CEO getting to a ceiling commercially, record seasons ticket revenue included. However we can still not compete and offer the best packages.

My argument is when is Rupp going to a play a part we do everything as fans - shirts tickets everything to prop his business up. Hide time he stepped up to the plate and put something back into what he has ruined.

This Williams example will continue to happen with other players as we do not have the financial clout.

This is a serious question.. What are you expecting? You can give Williams as an example of what? What about Smallwood coming down from the Championship?

You don’t have an argument, you don’t own the club and you ain’t a shareholder.
Neither am I. It’s not our money it’s his. You don’t tell me how to spend my money, likewise I don’t tell you .
We are stuck where we are, it’s not rocket science. Unless you want us to turn into Wigan? He may think it’s a risk, you don’t , but it’s not your money is it. Unless……… Nah , we’ll go bust in a year.

No they don’t of course but 1,000’s of on line gamblers up to their neck in debt do. Why do you think football authorities are banning advertising it or they were last time I read up on the topic.

Clubs in the English Premier League are set to ban gambling adverts on the front of football strips, after sustained pressure from campaigners. Proposals publicised this week would see clubs end prominent betting logos on shirts, but still allow smaller ones on shirt sleeves.

Well i don't see a queue of willing fruitcakes at the gates of Valley parade looking to take the club off Rupps hands. We ain't really any bigger than half a dozen other teams at this level, we just have a bigger crowd watching us. So as much as i'd like to see us throw the money about BFG style, the truth is we have to work with what the club generates, its upto Hughes to get the best out of it.

You have a valid point upto “ Per Se” It’s gambling linked is my point and I’m not wrong . Own dosh made up and “funded” by gambling even tangentially whichever way one looks at it.

It’s his dosh and he can do as he pleases, no qualms with that, it’s gambling linked and the misery it can bring is my point. Yes I read up on him before I posted earlier.

They are easy to tie in knots precisely because it’s not their money they are talking about…It’s someone else’s .

Until we get the sugar daddy so many crave I hope the club continue to spend wisely. There is another way …double the price of season tickets……Ssshhhhhhh! I’m all ears. lol!

Well I’m not sure our large fanbase will wait long enough for this self sustainability model to come good.

I agree, if we’re such a massive club we should be able to double ST prices and still sell 15000.

There is a loyal enough fan base now with the numbers at unheard of levels. They may drop slightly if the season doesn't pan out as fans expect but the numbers won't drop that significantly.

Brentford one of the first clubs to use Sport Performance Analysis and haven't they done well, I still don't understand it but it has certainly paid dividends for Brentford.
This is a very interesting read https://www.sportperformanceanalysis.com/article/2018/6/8/the-history-of-brentford-football-analytics.

My point is the club from a leadership/ownership point has gone stale. From their own mouth we have maximised our commercial capacity and that still is not enough to compete.

we don’t have a clever analytical approach to transfers like a Brentford etc. So we go after the top 20 players released in league 1 and 2 and we can not compete. We usually end up with injury prone or recovering, more clubs than tiger woods players or aging pros and then we wonder why it never works.

Club lacks a strategy and that starts with the owner and plans well thought out ones usually cost and that’s the problem.

I don't think the club lacks strategy. The Club has a strategy. As long as we don't look like a relegated club., it is: we stay safe and stay put,. "Stuck" as a previous poster put it.

As said before, why not? City in L2 generates money for the Owner and Board. It's sustainable. Large crowds willing to part with a bargain couple of hundred quid per year, buy a shirt or two; a pie and a pint every other week. It's now a profitable business venture largely thanks to Sparks, and whilst this remains the case, why risk anything?

We may get promoted, one season, but it will not be by design.

Highly unlikely to get promoted under current owner.

Owner has out nothing in he's hasn't got back. Won't spend a penny now until we are sold which we won't be without promotion or promotions.

That is not sustainable. If we don’t go up next year I doubt fans will be paying for a ST. You can only fool the fans for so long before they head for the door. Fans want improve and promotion preferably the latter. We have plenty of money and no doubt our credit rating has improved.
