Doyle is far more prolific at this level than Wyke.

 

Don't disagree at all. But if he's injured, I'm not sure that any of the other options can make the step up. Miller is decent, as are some of the others, but I still feel they'd need someone up top with them

Doyle 50 goals in 107 in league one and two, Wyke 55 in 130.

 

The key phrase being "at this level". Compare their league 1 records and Doyle's is considerably better.

I'd say that if you look at the scraps that Wykes had to feed off while at City there's nothing between them.

 

Doyle was prolific at Oldham who got relegated.

 

And some are labelled shit and go on to other clubs and are sold for 1.5 Million

 

If you looked at his goals though I bet he'd get more chances than Wyke. There's not many goals that are tap ins.

 

T&A reporting that City are monitoring Doyle should Wyke leave, fecking hope not we need another in even if he stays.

 

Whilst we know it is difficult to bring strikers of note into the club - it is a little worrying that we are leaving late in the transfer window again - given what happened with Dennis in January. Wyke situation obviously complicated matters but where is the striker for the vacancy left by being unable to recruit Dennis. Since then we have pushed Poleon on and loaned Mccarten with just Millar brought in. Jones is yet to feature and not ready for the seasin start. Perhaps Payne though is seen as a replacement for Mccarten? Still one short then and two if Charlie goes. Hope we get this right as it could undo the good signings made so far though we do appear to have added players in midfield/defence this season who looks like they can contribute more to the goals tally e,g. Mellor if he signs, Payne, Wright and hopefully Scannell will become more prolific at Div1 level.

 

Maybe this has been covered elsewhere, but how come Alex Jones has been injured seemingly continuously ever since arriving. Since he arrived he has been capped 22 times, but many of those were off the bench, so the number of full games he has played is very low.

When he has played he has looked dangerous, but for a young lad he seems very injury prone. Hip first and ankle last season, and don't know what's up now.

And he signed a 2.5 year deal in Jan 2017 so that means his contract is up at the end of the season. Can't help but feel we've never seen the best of him.

 

And surely if he doesn’t play more than 20 times this season he’s gone?

We were interested last summer dont know about now as he signed a new deal.

 

Mansfield fans seem to think the bid is around 300k. He'd be a good fit in this team imo.
