It’s good that there’s some interest in the women’s team, but I wonder how many City fans give them a passing thought?

I am not in the least bit interested in the BCAFC women’s team, and I wish the BBC and Sky would stop pushing women’s football into the men’s headlines, results page etc.

 

They have managed to brainwash my son into thinking England's women would give City a game.

 

Me too. (#meetoo !!). No truck with them putting the results in with the men's, its all football after all, but no way should they be above league one & two results as if they are more important.

If the BBC want to show it, and again if they do it's fine, but I don't watch it, then please put it on BBC Two. It's not mainstream entertainment and doesn't attract a big enough audience. Personally I'd rather watch Homes uNder The Hammer.

 

30 is probably friends, family/partners of the players wanting a day out to St James Park.

Even that's a poor turnout

 

I’ve seen them play a few times up at Eccy United but in truth there just isn’t any interest locally.
It’s great though that there’s a facility for the ladies to participate in the game with organised leagues etc.

Whoever said the headlines were mens headlines? Why does it upset people like you that womens football is given the recognition it deserves? The progress that has been made in recent years is massive and it will only keep on getting better. The mens side of the game could do a lot worse that to look at the womens game to remind them what football is about.

I went on a stadium tour today in Europe and none of the stadium had been cleaned since Saturday. Away changing room was a mess

Birky - I'm chuffed the womens game is growing. Its great. That said the OG poster has a point its getting pushed down peoples throats at every opportunity when in reality 99% of people don't care.

 

They didn't but the BBC knows exactly what it's doing with ambiguous headlines on the main page such as "arsenal striker out for season" because if the headline was "Arsenal ladies striker out for season" they wouldn't even get 10% of the clicks.
