Agree. The clubs that have survived comfortably, in their first season and by the way it averages 3 out of the 4, have largely kept the same squads. Assuming we go up of course!!

Plenty of players in our squad will get better. Remember, Stubbs in only 24.

I'd bring back Costelloe as well. He'll be a year wiser and we've seen with the likes of Cullen that they tend to be better in their second season as been youngsters, they are naturally getting better.

Have we ever played Banks on the left wing? I do have a problem with wingers who don't get to the line and cross because its on their wrong foot. I'm not sure which foot Chapman favours before anyone says he has two wrong feet :grinning:

I didn't realise Stubbs was only 24, from what we've seen he's certainly got an old head on his shoulders, then again his father being Alan the ex Everton CD he will have had plenty of good advice with regards playing CD, in fact Hughes mentioned it in his video that we wanted to be more vocal on the pitch which Stubbs, Clayton offer, I think Derbyshire will also add to that when introduced.

Im fairly comfortable with where we are now. Whatever happens this season, I think we will be better next season.

And no I'm not worried if our rivals are Wrexham, Notts County, Oxford, Salford and Stockport (I think!!).

It seems to be the footballing “ in thing” in the last 5 years, play wingers on their “ wrong side”.
It’s the cutting in from their wing that gives the advantage. They can’t do that with any success if they come on from their “ natural” side, predominantly because they use their “ wrong” foot to stand up with?

Call me old fashioned but I want my winger to get to the line and cross it. I bet Andy Cook does too. Obviously if they can do both better still.

Old fashioned.............no seriously for me there's nothing like a winger skinning his full back and putting a quality cross in for your striker to meet, we've had some decent ones over the years going right back to John Hall, Ronnie Brown, Don Hutchinson, right up to the likes of Nicky Summerbee, Peter Beagrie etc.

To be fair, I think every player's dad probably had a moan at some point when their sons were playing under Adams!

Me too. For every goal that inverted wingers score by cutting inside they could be putting in ten decent crosses for strikers to attack.

Banks is the 2nd most creative player in the league so far this season behind Jordan Roberts of Stevenage

Seriously Idle??? What is that based on?
I assume its averaged over minutes on the pitch?
Imagine how creative he might be if he was playing on his proper wing :grinning:

Edit...I wasn't knocking Banks by the way

i know it’s not a full list Dave but there’s a serious name from the 80’s missing. He could put crosses in and shoot. One of the Coventry 3 .

Your quite right mate how could I forget John Hendrie, not only could he put his marker on his arse he could also cut in and score, in fact as an attacking player there was little he couldn't do, naught step for Bronc's .

Would love to see Banks an Crichlow back here next season. In regards to the later, I personally don't see it happening. Banks is very direct in his play, always pushing forward. Besides Vernam, Reach an Mashall, we haven't had that type of winger in recent years

I reckon if there was a chance of us getting Crich for next season he'd be starting games for us now, not being left out of the match day squad altogether.

I agree, sadly as Critch is not named on the bench Hughes prefering Kelly I think that's possibly a give away ?.
