Id take both but cant see either returning. Banks has been a bit part and Critchlow cant get a sniff right now.

Id keep the above for a variety of reasons - continuity, back ups, could improve. Despite a step up in class you cant decimate a promotion winning squad.

We would need 6 or 7 new players to replace the 3 or 4 crap we are sending back on loan and those clearly not good enough or easy to shift on like Hendrie, Ridehalgh, Odusina, Songo'o, Eisa and Oliver.

 

What I like about Banks is that he runs at defenders, with pace. On his day he's got a good shot on him and his free kicks are fairly good.

He’s just not that good. Very overrated by our fans.

 

I think the criticism on here is harsh. The kid is just 19. He is only going to improve. He certainly has somwthing to become a decent player.

I think we could see the return of Critchlow at Crawley, Stubbs has been the better of the Platt/Stubbs partnership but unfortunately it was Platt's poor defending with regards both Grimsby goals.

 

I agree. The lad certainly had ability and had done ok so far in his first full year of senior football.

He's 21 though, not 19 so needs to progress fairly quickly from here on in.

 

I like Banks as well. With age and more experience his biggest flaw of his final decision making (well, from what I see) will improve. He almost tries too hard rather than rely on his natural ability, of which it’s evident he has.

A good benchmark for Banks is ironically Tyreik Wright. Similar in age, you’d expect Banks needs to be hitting similar levels of impact in a game as Wright did, to push on his career. I’d have thought a L.1 loan is what he will be looking for at least next season, albeit i don’t know his contract status at Palace, and I don’t expect a return to City.

 

Palace 3 year deal ends July 2023 if google is correct?

 

I might be wrong but I think he signed his 3 Yr deal in January, so won't expire until January 24.

Edit - signed his deal in Jan 2020 so it was either a 3 and a half year deal and is up in the summer, or he's already out of contract!

 

There is no way Eisa & Songo'o will get new deals. I think Ridehalgh will

 

Only out of contract player I'd be giving a new deal to in the summer would be Cook. As for the loanees, I'd take Banks and Critchlow but think we could upgrade on them anyway.

 

I’d be shocked if Gilliead doesn’t, it’s obvious Hughes loves him he’s the first name on the team sheet. Cook has literally more chance of being dropped as we saw at Christmas.

 

I wouldn't be renewing Gilliead. He's done alright this season but his output is still woeful and central midfield is still our weakest area of the squad which needs an overhaul in the summer.

 

None of them if we get promoted, and none if we don’t.
