It was mentioned on the radio that we tried to sign Derbyshire at the beginning of the season, I wonder what difference it would have made to the team. When you compare him with Oliver you can really see the difference in quality.
I thought the game changed when they made the 3 subs, it allowed us to get a foothold in the game and push on. Still think this will go to the last game of the season!

Once again so frustrating but some of the early posts in this thread are pathetic, we gift them a goal and the game changed on that one poor piece of defending be it from Lewis or Platt, with regards Lewis's gesture it looked like he accepted the blame, then we struggle to deal with another decent corner, I think Chapman gave the initial free kick away but thought Grimsby's set pieces/corners were very good today.
We did the job this afternoon, what happens with regards todays other games is out of our control but this must have our players chafing at the bit with regards next Fridays game at Crawley.

 

Chapman did give that free kick away, got booked after trotting back to be two yards behind their lad he pulled down. Aaargh!

 

I'll have a pint of what your drinking , we should be capable of getting a good return from our next three games at Crawley, home to Sutton and away to Rochdale.

 

Tbf he did abuse Grimsby.

 

I do like the kid, his close ball control at times is very good but then he fails to do the easy stuff, I'm all for players doing the tracking/tackling back but that particular situation was poor decision making which cost us, but credit to Grimsby once again a very good ball into the danger area which we failed to deal with.

 

Enjoyed that game but boy we have a lot of improvement to do.

The lad never stopped dragging the Grimsby defender all over the place and once again IMO got little support from the man in Black, some of his goals this season have been something you don't expect from a league two striker, as I posted earlier a great ball from Derbyshire to pick him out but it was far from a tap in, quality finish to go along with his assist for the Gilliead goal, but he really needs to up his allround game which is poor .

 

Stevenage just equalised 1 - 1 at Northampton the goal was always coming.

 

Some strong performances out there today when we needed it.

Gifted them 2 goals but dug in and deservedly took all 3 points.

What a bench we now have to change games.

Loved the way we slowed the game down after we scored and THAT Walker roll from off the pitch made me chuckle. About time we did a bit of shithousery ourselves.

Could be in a very strong position after the next 2 games. Nothing to fear so let's go at Crawley from the off nice and direct and get some early goals to settle us down.

Just nice to ram it back down the Grimsby players throats after the way they celebrated their 2nd goal in front of the kop.

Finally what a great atmosphere second half.

 

An Orient winner/goal would be nice.

Got the Northampton v Stevenage game on three counties radio. Stevenage have been pushing in the second half. Hit the bar as well. Could win it unless Northampton wake up a bit.

 

And Leeds are getting a drubbing not turning out to be a bad day.

Northampton 1 - 1 Stevenage
Walsall 1 - 1 Sutton
Orient 1 - 0 Carlisle

We should be happy with todays results, we just need to be grinding those wins out.

 

And that point about atmosphere is another reason to get promoted. Obviously it could all change considerably in L1 and the championship but there could be some cracking games in L1 if we get up.
