There's no need to change a team that are averaging virtually 2 points a match during the last 14 and have 2 points a match from the last 8.

It's like having a spare car and using it for the sake of it.

None of those not starting are staking a claim to be started.

Thought it was a decent away performance today. Their goal was a fluke. It now makes the midweek draw a bad one.

Vital we get back to back wins now to keep us in the auto mix.

    The games are running out.

I'd say bringing the likes of Banks on for Gillied, Chapman on for Costelloe and East for Smallwood were all positive substitutions apart from the fact they had all put a good 70 minutes plus in.
The stats show there was little between the two sides unfortunately for us we scored a cracking solo goal and theirs shall we say had an element of luck to it, why do we have a divine right to come away with all 3 points because newport currently sit 18th in the league you've watched enough football to know it doesn't alway work like that.

Managers rarely take players with them that have knocks, because they know travel is simply detrimental to their well being.

Of course, it's not horrendous - but enough of a negativity to make a difference.

We've done very well in this spell. Since the Rochdale debacle, we've taken 20 from 11 matches - with the vast majority of them against play-off / promotion rivals.

And unscathed, injury wise - i.e. players to come back.

It’s now the business end of the season. I thought up until their goal our performance was a good one for a team looking to go up automatically.

It’s all about the results now. We are playing catch up. What others do doesn’t matter. It’s all about us.

It is when we have some ageing players who need the rest to get the best out of them. Otherwise we might as well have gone for a smaller squad with more quality. I don’t think a point is a bad one but if we want the autos we could have done with three

Well it’s not in our hands but we can certainly make it closer to be so if we win our next 2.

Agree and here's one for you my friend, apart from his very well taken solo goal the Newport defenders keep Andy Cook very quite and you don't often hear me say that.
I thought certainly the first half it was the kid Costelloe who was causing the Newport defenders trouble dragging them all over the place, but a point isn't the end of the world, I know we keep saying it but our next two home games are massive, we should beat Hartlepool but Carlisle will be a very good test especially at Valley Parade where we've been let down so many times over the past and certainly on at least a couple of occasions this season.
We're still very much in contention for an auto place which at the moment looks like it will be 3rd as I can't see either Orient Stevenage or Carlisle not taking first and second place at the moment.

You sound like you think we'd have even more points if changes had been made.

What the big squad does, is ensure that we don't suffer when injuries occur - unlike say Northampton currently, are. Plus like we did against Colchester, we make subs and they do make a difference. But note, it's rarely that they do.

Why do you need twenty or so posts, to try and make the same point of view?

I'm still not convinced by Stevenage.

Remarkably Carlisle have a host of 'six pointers' to play - they play all six of the teams in the top 7.

Orient play five of the Top 8 (including us of course). Northampton, Stevenage and Stockport four.

Mansfield and Salford four of the Top 7

If nothing else, provided we maintain form, we're bound to take advantage.

That was a point totally different to the others.

    And it's a debate.

You are missing the point as usual when you go off on one by trying to dominate every post - as I said there are many teams at play off level Inc us but that doesn't mean there are lots of teams that are suited to league 1. Just lots of slightly above average teams in what you often admit is a pretty poor division - because we've done well against Mansfield and Salford doesn't mean we are geared for league 1. But as I indicated, lets just enjoy it and see what happens

    And I disagreed.

I think like Port Vale and Exeter have shown, plus Plymouth and Bolton you can take a certain style from L2 and it more than fits in L1.

Evidence for this is our impressive displays against the teams in the higher divisions.

Indeed, I'd argue, in terms of performance, that we've been far worse against teams we were meant to beat.

By the way, you're allowed to answer - I don't believe in censorship.

14 goals from the wing in 67 appearances for an absolutely awful Scunthorpe team isn't too bad at all. He's been played out of position here
