What a leap though, Cookie is in danger (?) of becoming as infamous for us as our beloved Bobby if he stays with us for a couple more years...

Watching that no specific Colchester player picked Cook up how the hell can you allow a player who's renowned for his heading ability a free run for his header.

For the last 20 mins yes agreed . I see what you are saying but, remember he had him on for the full 90 in the early part of the campaign? He didn’t track back, he didn’t like a tackle , he was easily bullied from the ball and he didn’t provide an outlet. That’s why he got dropped. It’s no coincidence is it?

If he’s learnt then worth another go but he has to show he can do it for 90. If as is reported, he got a rollicking from MH yesterday, then clearly the full player isn’t ready for 90 yet?

A shame he's never had a regular partner to share the goal scoring as Bobby did in McNiven, Hawley, Staniforth, Cooke etc.

Exactly what I said earlier, Cookie has done all this without the quality support that other hero centre forwards of ours enjoyed ..

    Why cant we finish 2nd???

Absolutely nothing to fear up there. We currently have the leagues best goal scorer and the most in form defence in the division.

Im very confident that we finish in a play off place at the very least but there is no reason we cannot finish 2nd place.

    Different players for me.

Costelloe is less effective in home matches as the opponents sit deep. Away from home, he can run in behind and stretch the game which is invaluable as it creates space for Walker and other attacking midfielders.

Banks will pick the ball up in front of the defence and drive forwards and move the game forwards. His set pieces and deliveries into the box from open play are a real benefit though.

Cooke will do the same in division one if we get there and give him a contract

Eh? Joe has retired and Callum is likely to visit next Saturday. Why would we ‘give them a contract’?

Does anyone know why we don't allow fans in the Bradford End? 20,000 fans in the ground and the highlights concentrate on the rousing finale....in front of an empty stand!

In years gone by, that end of the ground housed the more vociferous supporters and produced a cracking atmosphere. Now, it must be dispiriting for the players to be kicking towards that end. The three sided effect certainly does the club no favours when highlights are shown regularly on regional tv. If the club doesn't want to house home fans in there, why not use it for away support?

Still wouldn't start with any of them ahead of recent starters.

I thought Costelloe did alright yesterday. Started brightly, made good runs and got into good positions but suffered when as a team we went back to default home mode after about 20 minutes.

With Cook almost single handedly carrying our promotion push with regards his goals I believe he has more than earned a new contract, be it a 12 month extension or what ever Hughes feels he deserves, how did Oliver get 3 years because of a couple of seasons in League One where his goal return was 27 league goals in 82 appearances.

I'm sure Hughes will be drilling that into the squad.
