I’ve not enjoyed homes games for ages……..

    Well, is this the third time this season (??) we have thought, win on Saturday and we’re only x points from top three?

    In all my years I’ve lost count of how many teams have been our bunny at home on a losing streak, no goals in x games, no points in x games etc etc.

    You just know what’s coming.

    However, I really DO hope we bury this continuing pattern for the remainder of this season and see where it takes us.

    BTW I never, ever, boo or slag players off. Let’s hope we get an early goal to calm us all down and go on to win and the crowd reproduce an atmosphere to match Donny etc.

    You are not meant to enjoy yourself. We are Bradford City, it has to be as painful and as uncomfortable an experience at Valley Parade as you can imagine.

    Players who are comfortable running with the ball.
    Crichlow, Banks, Costelloe, should all start for me in this one.
    Try and blow a hole through Colchester in the first half.

    The difference between Stockport who were on a poor run before coming to City, and Rochdale who have only won three times away and Barrow who had lost several games in a row, and Colchester, is that they are on a tremendous away run!

    I genuinely think our change in fortunes has arrived and I think the return of Walker is a huge part of that. If he doesn't play we'll struggle but generally I think we will start to pick up now.

    I can see it being a ropey 1-0 win but the crowd have to play it’s part by not getting in the players back if we ain’t 3-0 up after 20 minutes ............ they seem to be a lot more relaxed away from home ........ if the home support is like the away support then it will make a big difference .................

    Why would Crichlow start? We’ve conceded zero goals in last 2 games. He’s not that good and to be honest he’s put us under a lot of pressure when trying to play out from the back.

    Luckily for us, Colchester have won 5 of their last 6 away games, so we don't need to worry about ruining their losing streak!

    Worth mentioning that our record against Colchester is abysmal.

    Lost 16 - drawn 14 - won 9

    We haven’t beaten them at Valley Parade since Sept 1981.

    This isn’t going to be easy.

    They have Kelleher and Wood in their team. Wood was let go by Orient and we let Kelleher go. You wonder about their defence. Will they play ‘out of their socks’, with something to prove or can we expose why they were let go? To be fair to Kelleher and in particular Wood, I hope they have a good season except for Saturday. Finally Sam Hornby is their squad number 1 keeper, but doesn’t seem to currently feature in their squad.

    'Keep it tight for the first 20 minutes and wait for the crowd to get on their backs and then we can get something out of this one' The tactic for away teams at VP is so obvious they probably have it painted on the away dressing room wall like 'Live, Laugh, Love'
