Maybe something to do with the conclusion you jumped to and your lengthy defence of his tenure at previous clubs?

Bit of a contradiction there; You say Rahic is in charge of recruitment yet McCall brought the dross in. You believe what you want to believe(or is convenient for you to believe), others amongst us may think differently.

Think it's a bit more simple than that CT. If the plan fails, Edin loses his life's savings and it has struck home that our 3rd division is a higher standard than the German 3rd division and requires a bit more attention. That incidentally is why I think he believes in our coaching team rather than see it as a cheap option.

Point I'm making with the loans is that its generally seen as a cheaper alternative, so whilst someone like Payne may be a major coup for us, we are probably not paying him anything outside of our financial powers. We have without a doubt used the loan market better than last season, thus making improving to our squad without really spending anything significant.

Last year we chose to spend a good chunk of our budget on fees which Imo was a complete waste. Putting that money towards the wage budget can help us attract better quality players than the likes Reeves, Poleon and Mcarten. This shows in players we have brought in such as O'Connor and O'Donnel for example.

At guess, i'd say the budget has increased from last season however i dont think it's anything major, such as Rupp deciding to put 750k of his own money in for example. The biggest factor in bringing in better players (on paper at least) is becoming more shrewd in the transfer market, Imo.

Drum roll please........Tawheed has said something that makes sense, though that was buried in a passage from War and Peace.

I too hope MC is successful at his first attempt. I wasn’t advocating bringing in the old guard like Grayson but, for example, the 2 Lincoln managers. Young and quite successful in a short space of time.

iv'e never seen anyone misunderstand a post as spectacularly as you've just done.

I mentioned that Rahic was in charge of recruiting a headcoach. Recruiting a headcoach is not the same as recruiting players and I was in no way holding him responsible for the quality of our signings with that statement

I also never said that McCall brought in dross. I used it as an example of what OTHER posters have given as reasons for last years failure in the transfer market.

So yeah, your post is pretty pointless.

Would you get a BOGOF offer with the Lincoln managers? Maybe that has stopped offers as you have to have two managers and pay for them

Mate, you've just responded to one of my posts showing a level of comprehension a 6 year old would embarrassed with, and you are now mocking others for not making sense. Look up the definition of irony...

It's all about opinions Tawheed. Non of us know how much our loans are costing this year v last, I would certainly agree they are better by the look of things. I would be amazed if the Payne loan was not costing us more than Gilli's did last season.

The money we paid in fees last year is still invested in those players I mentioned. It's not available to spend on the squad this season so how are we making better use of that money paid in fees this year?

I wager we spent a lot on transfer fees for Scanlon.

None of us know, but the point I'm making is that we are still only covering part of his wage so it doesn't necessarily equate to "Jack Payne= Great signing= Owners are pushing the boat out". I can also see Seedorf and Miller playing major roles next season, so overall I'd say we've utilised the loan market to bring in the required quality and have used a relatively cheap method to do it.

Regarding the fees, let's assume the budgets look something like this:

    Last year: £2M
    This year:£2M

If last year we had spent 500k of our budget on transfer fees, that only leaves us with a wage budget of 1.5M. Whereas this year we have decided to prioritise our finances on wages, thus more of our budget can go on paying better players the higher wages they demand.

Huddersfield spending 2 consecutive seasons in the Premiership is to our advantage. It's not like they are an Accrington or a Wimbledon where they need to squeeze every last penny out of us. Whether we pay them 100k or 200k is completely irrelevant to them, so id wager we got him reasonably cheap. I don't think they would stand in the way of his career for the sake of a few quid which makes no difference to them whatsoever.

Please god get off to a reasonable start at least. We spent weeks and weeks touting this job that nobody wanted except for Gary Megson. Imagine if we have to start that all over again.

If you are right, Huddersfield are clearly not as tight fisted as Man City. I seem to remember they took their percentage from the 75 grand we got for Cole, which really will have been small change for them.
