Good thing we signed Stubbs if Crichlow is out for a while. Lots of comments from social media of why have we signed a centre back, joke of a club etc. We’d be in trouble relying on Odisina who’s looked poor or a very raw centre back in Kelly who we haven’t seen in the squad yet.

 

Alternatively, maybe if Odusina had had more game time at the start of the season then he wouldn't look so nervous when he's slightly randomly chucked in there and hoicked out the next match?

 

Possibly, but also a risk that if he had played more, we'd have dropped more points.

 

He was ill and injured in pre season, by time he came back the two CBs had forged a good partnership, one of the strengths of this team. I think questions would have been asked had one of them randomly been dropped for someone who’d not had a pre season. Centre backs isn’t a position which is rotated in a successful team. I remember when Novak had to play CB at Forest Green after a red card and he looked more comfortable than Timi has so far, it’s on him to perform when he gets the chance. I was excited when he signed, but I’ve been disappointed with what I’ve seen so far. That said his best spell at Hartlepool was part of a 3, which is probably part of the issue.
