Fair comments from Dave Challinor. Seems to think a point each was about fair.

I like Gillead’s work rate and he tackles back really well and I think he is harsh,y judged by some on here.
Unfortunately though he has no end product to his name no goals no assists. At home I would like to try Chapman there

Costelloe and Eisa are far more worthy cases to be replaced. Walker plus Derbyshire or Banks come in or someone else with a bit of pace.

Looks like we have a new Bradford City tea boy.

You do understand that the best managers don't follow stats. Clayton has joined us and played in the Smallwood role. Smallwood can't play wide of midfield in a 3 as he doesn't have the qualities required. Our midfield has been a weak area all season hence why Clayton has come in.

So, sorry from my eyes I think Smallwood or Gilly now needs to be dropped. Playing Smallwood, Clayton and Gilly in midfield is far to slow and they don't create enough. It's that bloody simple why MH needs to consider dropping him.

The last time I looked, the standard loan agreement didn't have a 'must play' clause. But equally the standard agreement doesn't have a 'non playing' clause such as for cup games or games against the parent club. And yet these things do happen. None of this prevents a loan agreement having those clauses included if both parties agree and the criteria can be agreed. Whether or not the Costelloe loan agreement or any other has such clauses is a matter of conjecture. Short of having access to the agreement, nobody would know either way.

For me we've got those in front of him to create. Plus Smallwood, having a bit more freedom with Clayton behind can increase his number of key contributions.

That tackling back is vital in L2. Take that away and we're back to the over exposed defence of November / December.

LOL!! As a 60 year old - when anyone calls me a "boy" I take it as a compliment.

I disagree. There was nothing wrong with that midfield three last night. The issue was the poor games that Costelloe and Eisa, i.e. you can tinker as much as you want with midfield but unless you have some creative attackers, all you are doing is making the defence more vulnerable, i.e. by lowering the strength of midfield.

    Seems unlikely to me.

This isn't Hughes' first rodeo, and having 20+ games dictated to him by another club seems unreasonable.

I think Burnley fans think he'll play a lot based on merit, though, as they seem to rate him.

No way he has to play ahead of Walker, though, IMO.

Whoever at the club agrees to those terms wants shooting.
No player has a right to play regardless.

When you’re the manager of Stoke , QPR or Southampton then yes it’s about parking the bus and that kind of meets fans expectations.
He didn’t last long at Man City because their expectations were higher just like ours are in league 2

No way can we afford to play loaners unless they are making a contribution to the team.

From what i've seen of Costelloe he could well be up for the Darren Morgan award for this seasons worst signing ..

The forwards will disagree with you and state the midfield were slow on the ball and not creative enough.

Our defence this season hasn’t really been a problem. It’s our midfield and now attack.

If Smallwood,Gilliead and Clayton are going to be our midfield dynamo then I have to ask , where are the goals going to come from? All three of them are not known for being goal scoring midfielders. Sadly we are a lot weaker this transfer window. Losing Wright was unfortunate as he went to a club flying in league 1. No excuse for bringing in a mediocre left back and letting one of our own leave on loan. The kid from Burnley was built up because Kompany played him in four matches so he must be good, but he’s more a Samuels than a Wright. Not convinced bringing in veterans make us stronger.
I’ll be generous and give him one more game before I mark him mediocre. At the moment he’s below the mediocre mark.

You have missed one very vital point - we were woeful & disjointed at the back whilst Crichlow was injured. It was no coincidence we have looked more assured and tightened up at the back since his return

If he's that bad why hasn't Kompany let him go?

Could it be that if we judged every player after two matches - none of them would be playing for a third??

We're getting worse than even in 2018/19. Mind you. At least then we gave players five matches, before moaning.

Another one to add to our “gets better the more he doesn’t play” list eh Rog? ;)
