Expected to lose so happy with the result, but the performance and game overall were dreadful.

I’m happy to criticise refs on here which isn’t the cool thing to do, so feel I need to praise when one is good. Best of the season for me by far. One who was actually consistent for 90 minutes unlike most.

 

My lad messaged me and what he alluded to mirrors your thoughts in that as an attacking threat I'm not sure what we are trying to achieve. We defend quite well usually but attack wise we show very little to a point where we are actually a dull side to watch.

I care not. I’m just positive and one not to wallow in doom and watching Man City every week, owned by a country with limitless pots of money. I would rather watch BCAFC , win , lose or draw.

 

Only the likes of you could diss a team that's won 13 out of the last 18 matches.

They were pre-season favourites for a reason - they have some very good players.

This was a magnificent point. Too many are obsessed (including Radio Leeds) with quality of performance, when this is the kind of showing Stevenage have showed all season.

I'm now very optimistic. This mean spirited attritional pragmatic play is what is needed and we have creative players to come back.

Nah, I comment on what I see. An average side that's poor to watch and a systemically failing club, with no entertainment value. Simple as that. If and when theres a positive, I'll say so. Platt was good, Crichlow amd Lewis too. That's about it. Its not stressful in the least, not to me anyway. Its not important enough to be stressful and we've been flailing for so long, poor football and no success is pretty much assumed as standard.

 

A good point at a form side but I’m still not over that awful performance against a poor Rochdale side at home and for me we were lucky the match against Carlisle was called off because I think we would have been shown up again.

 

Derbyshire and Cook actually looked like a forward partnership and we started retaining the ball higher up the pitch.

Funnily enough, that's exactly the reason people asked for Oliver but unfortunately he offers a lot less than Cook in even holding up the ball. It's also debatable whether he's any better in the air.

Walker and Banks set to come back. Clayton and Derbyshire are good streetwise additions.

Yep the team with this great forward line we were talking about had one more chance than us. Being honest I fully expected defeat tonight but we got a deserved point. Yes awful to watch which so many matches at this level are but it shows we are showing signs that the manager is adapting to this league and that can only be good

 

I should be optimistic but theres this nagging doubt that this team and the way we set up is not attacking enough. Not just based on tonight, although this evening did show up where our weaknesses are and that is lack of chances created. I'm hoping Hughes can get that front 6 firing but it hasn't all season bar Cook.

 

Agree here. Time for Cook to be back. And I'll be amazed if he's not against his old team he loves scoring against.

 

Deluded mate that tonight is no different to what’s gone all season .......... but folk making out that it was some kind of brilliant point .......... you could have put the poorest team in the league out there and the same shit performance would have been on view ........ oh shit the same happened against the team in 24th a couple of weeks ago didn’t it ????

 

Agreed but Oliver doesn't offer pace (or anything really) and Costeloe, well I'm not sure what he is yet.
