I think he’s just let everything go and has got virtually everything right so far.

Is he meant to be freeing up space for Smallwood to be more attacking? Because it’s not working. In fact, so alike in play, I keep thinking Clayton IS Smallwood. If ever a set piece summed us up - short corner, laid back once, then twice, then thrice to the defender on the half way who launches an aimless long ball that sees us concede a soft free kick.

Several squad changes, a formation change, but impressively we look even more toothless than we did!

 

I’m happy to criticise if I think a ref is shit, same with players and management. But he’s been decent, let things go and most importantly been consistent in his decision making.

The players on both teams have been shit on the other hand…
