    Perhaps if clubs weren't too quick to hammer referees (imagine the uproar if a long term injury happens because of the pitch) they may be more inclined to let the game play.

    Clubs reap what they sow at times and it's very comfortable for those not having to have any repercussions to tell the decision makers what they should have done.

    Why? Because there’s a reasonable expectation that an event takes place on the date and time it’s advertised?
    Imagine booking a holiday and being told ‘sorry it’s postponed, it’s been rearranged for 3 weeks next Tues?

    Lets just be balanced about this.

    If your holiday was cancelled you would be entitled to a refund or choose another date in the future.

    A tour operator would not ‘rearrange’ it in another 3 weeks!

    Don't icy paths kill or injure innocent people too ? The principle is the same just because it happened 30 years ago doesn’t make it right now. Calling a match off with people in the ground is a ludicrous waste of money. Suites opened, lights on, turnstile operators to pat, stewards to pay, police bill to pay, refunds to walk up customers. All on the basis that the pitch might be playable at 3pm.

    Even if playable at 3pm, it might not be at 4pm
