It's still peeing it down in Cross Hills & more is due, Chance of rain in the next hour is 91%. Don't get your hopes up, just because it's stopped doesn't mean the pitch will drain enough to make it playable. If it's not playable now, the ref is likely to see the 80% chance of heavy rain at 8pm justification that the match won't finish.

We are also due 40mph winds between 7pm & 8pm.

My money is on it being off by 3pm today.

Why all the chat of it being off? Other than rain, has there been any hint from the club that it could be?

This is why I'm so opposed to removing the Saturday 3pm blackout.

Everyone trying desperately to convince everyone that it won't affect attendances is absolutely living in cloud Cuckoo land.

I get what you are saying however they could alleviate some of the chat by making some form of statement.

People do travel a fair distance to come and it's only to give some notice even if it's just an update.
    Simply delete as applicable

The pitch is currently playable and we don't anticipate any further issue.

The picture is playable however given the forecast it's likely there may be an inspection planned closer to kick off time.

We have concerns over certain areas of the pitch and there for we will be calling a local referee in for an inspection at xpm.

Are you mad , it's rained since a week last Wednesday of course it's going to be off however we need a referee to come and get his wage before we confirm

If it is on, it's going to be an interesting match, played mainly in the air.

Just spoken to someone at the club and they told me
    The game is definitely ON.
    Wait for a 5pm abandonment.

People never went to Tuesday night games, it's always half full.

I don't think it's anything to do with streaming.

Come Saturday at 3 pm, it's far, far busier than it ever was on a Tuesday.

I know first hand of at least a few people who generally do not attend night games - I don't know anyone that misses Saturdays though (or would want to).

Nonsense, we’ve had many games on Tues night that have been a sellout. If fans want to attend they will. It’s just the more reasons you give people not to attend, they’ll take them.
IFollow is a killer of matchday attendances, end of discussion

I think you're right there to be fair.

A few years ago I was on a 5am - 1pm shift, Tuesday to Saturday, and my regular go to bed time was between 8 and 8.30pm, ready for a 3.30-4am wake up. I very rarely went to Tuesday night games for this reason, as when I did, the earliest I would realistically get to sleep is around midnight and therefore I'd be working on between 3 and 4 hours sleep, which had a massively detrimental effect, as well as a knock on effect on the following day. By the time you get yourself right it's Thursday, and you wonder whether all that was worth it for Crawley or Rochdale at home on a Tuesday night.

Fortunately I work in an office with normal working hours these days, but I completely sympathise with ST holders who are on a similar work pattern as to what I used to be.

I get why that would be a problem for you but are we seriously suggesting that out of 17000 season ticket holders we have more than half that fit that criteria?
Despite the official attendance given tonight of 16000, in reality there will be less than 10k which is very very poor

Two of us were coming tonight but the weather has persuaded us to watch on I follow instead. Hate missing home matches but is not looking good although I think the match will be on

As I’ve said in other posts, once the away team leaves and the match is called off the home club is liable for expenses.
Don’t know but imagine Dale will set off and have pre match somewhere. To my mind that is setting off now.
I’m with you, as I understand, barring more downpours it’s on but why not contact Club instead of this constant speculation

That's complete nonsense. There are people even on this forum that have openly spoken about missing Saturday games and catching on ifollow due to any number or reasons.

I work out side in the pissing rain all day , freezing my tits off in winter ... When i get home all I want to do is get a warm bath and thaw out

The last thing on my mind this time of year is going back outside again , Before Ifollow I stayed in and listened on the radio , so for me Ifollow makes no difference but is a bonus

If its a warm night I go to the games

So if it was not on iFollow or the radio would you go to the game?
