Yes both @Rogered Tart and @wetherbywhaler said he would not be recalled by his club, Al saying he heard he'd completed enough games for him to stay for the rest of the season.

Gillinghams new owners continuing to splash the cash, signed Tim Dieng for a fee and the Exeter clear out continues. The team we could have faced when we were originally supposed to play Gills compared to the one we will face is going to be massively different.

Jamille Matt is also coming back to L2 after a prolific spell at this level with FGR. They've accepted bids from Tranmere and Walsall for the striker.

 

I wonder if the second signing mentioned by Hughes is still joining us imminently?

As much as we can bring new players in and improve what we have, the biggest problem for me remains the cautious mentality from the bench.
And lack of any ambitious tactics

 

Dieng was always steady enough for us but since going to Exeter he's developed into one of the best players at this level. Would've taken him back as when you look at his attributes, it's pretty much everything our midfield lacks.

 

Totally agree. I liked him when he played for us. Good signing for them.

 

Dieng is an excellent signing for the Gills. Surprised he's gone there to be honest, although the new US owner told a TV interviewer on Saturday at the Leicester match that he had been told that the Gills were a sleeping giant!

 

Can't allow that to be a hard luck story when we play them. We're in charge of our own destiny, and WE should be showing ambition to bring in real quality this window.

 

It would be great if we could bring in quality but we never have a cup run that brings in the extra cash. We don’t seem to have a manager who is capable of getting us past the first round since Parkinson’s day. If Lawn and Rhodes were still in charge it would be a fire sale this window to reduce the deficit.

 

There still might be. I bet there have been bids for Lewis and Cook and if the price was right, both would go.

 

Sounds like Vernam might be going back to Grimsby.

 

Cook will be gone this window I reckon. I don't think he has ever been in MH's plans. However, he had no option than to keep picking him after his excellent scoring run.
