Must have more money than sense if you can afford to travel away on trains.
    Biggest rip off ever.

If you get train tickets in advance they're really not that much dearer than going in the car (£50-60 fuel return) or a supporters coach (£40ish).

You can get a return to London for less than £100, or much less if you're under 31 and have a 1/3 off railcard and not have to worry about driving + can have a drink.

Whilst £50 return might seem reasonable for 1 person , it’s not so attractive for a group of 4 costing £200
Someone would have to be travelling in a Bentley to run up equivalent fuel costs.
    I’ll stick to driving

That’s like saying, I could make motoring cheaper if I took four neighbours to the supermarket twice a week. Of course a car full is cheaper. That’s just whataboutism…which fails miserably , each and every time it’s used.

That’s nonsense. Most people go to football with someone else if not a group so you’d only need 2 in the car to make it cheaper.
The only reason not to drive is if you want a drink.

Just a ‘heads up’. If you have a railcard, you can pair it with an Oyster Card and get the equivalent discount on your journey in London. Use it for any journeys in London for the duration of your travel card. Costs nothing to add on.

‘You need to take your Oyster card and your National Rail discount card to an Underground station*, or a National Rail ticket office listed on this page. You then ask the clerk to add your discount entitlement to your Oyster card. It will be valid until the expiry of the railcard.
*At an Underground station you should ask one of the visible members of staff who will use a special menu on one of the ticket machines’. https://oysterfares.com/information-pages/railcards-and-discounts/

I also went from Kings X to Forster Sq for 5 years with my lad because I was fed up of driving the 400 mile round trips and the unlimited petrol was FREE.

But unfortunately still not cheaper than driving, which given the price of fuel, is disgusting.

And the fares will only go up if the strikes are successful.

The fares will go up strikes or no strikes, the traveling public get shafted every year when the railway companies hike their prices.

The railway companies don't set the prices. The govt pays the rail companies a set amount to run the network and the govt sets and receives all the ticket income.

Sounds about right (Maggie's famous market forces rubbish) but my point remains, strike or no strike the rail traveling public will get shafted once again.

Fares can be 50% cheaper If the govt weren't pocketing the cash and stashing it in their offshore accounts.

Return to KX for the Wimbledon game £31.50, not too bad, saying that a gimmers railcard helps!

What about your travel to / from the station and onward travel in London? Is that free and timeless?
