I agree it wasn’t wonderful but they had to find a way to win. They did; when you are trying to find your way back matches can be scrappy. Hopefully they can learn and get better. Management Team and players.

 

3 points very welcome but we must recruit a dominant midfielder who pulls the strings. Had either side had one ,they'd have won this game comfortably.

 

Much better performance. Much better individual performances from a few. Still didn't create a whole lot. Oliver had an excellent game as the target man.

Can we win two in a row?

 

Oh for a maurading left back like Hedley , a HUDDERSFIELD loanee. He was a fantastic player for Harrogate down the left. If only Foulds, if only.?

On a brighter note, Sutton put a good shift in , but some of his decisions were dire.

 

That was shite.

1 lucky goal in the first minute and that was it. 89 minutes of boredom. Disgusting

 

Wasn’t good but the players put in more effort. Nice to see no pissing around and the back. Wright was good tonight and thought everyone else did enough. Harrogate offered nothing going forward which helped. 3 points to build on but I still think the better teams beat us based on that.

 

I think 2 of their back line are Huddersfield loanees.

 

A very average performance against a struggling side. Just about worth the win.

It's a win and it stops the recent run, but there was no quality about it. Nothing to be enthused by.

 

There's value in scrappy wins. We'll all take it. But if we want to go up, then at some point we need to start producing better performances

 

Without a doubt. Tonight’s match performance will not get us climbing the table but it might kick start better performances.

 

Headley was very good for them.

Talking of full backs, I thought Halliday was very good tonight too, my MOTM for City

 

That was the sort of performance you need when you've had a poor run of form and a win and clean sheet was much needed and deserved. Far from pretty but it was a win at any cost exercise tonight to stop the rot and give us a platform to build off.

Change of shape meant that we finally won second balls which is half the battle won already. Smallwood and Gilliead looked better but I thought Sutton was very poor again.

Vast improvements still needed but it's a step in the right direction.

 

Not a great performance but it stops the rot and we finally secure a home win for the first time in MONTHS ........... if we could actually win our next two home games then it may change the atmosphere of our fans again ............ sadly I ain’t that confident to many times we’ve had hope only for it to be knocked down again

 

I don't really agree with this, I thought we looked comfortable in the end, Harrogate seemed to lose their belief in the last 15-20 minutes.

I think the character we have shown tonight would have been missing under previous managers after a prolonged slump (time if not number of games).

Tonight, we won an absolute must win game and dare I say, we deserved it against a side in form who were here to cause us problems.

They couldn't.

Good stuff.

 

I liked the look of Folarin, thought he had pace and ability.

 

Just got a feeling that Jamie Walker could be a massive boost for us if he comes back fit

 

We did deserve it. It was the exact scoreline to reflect the game. A single goal win against a poor side. Its the sort of result that will take on a greater shape based on what happens over the next few weeks. If it proves to be a platform for a good run, then it'll look like a dogged win at an important time to break a poor run of form and show some character and resilience. Or it could go the other way.

I understand that your can't just launch into great performances and form easily. However, we're approaching the turn of the year and I've yet to see any real evidence that we're ready to be a promotion winning side. And that has to be the aim and expectation.

 

You went did you….? Got home rather sharpish. . Normally it takes 33 minutes to get beyond Manningham Park gates.You might fool some ……Son, not me.

 

Just the result we needed. No lack of desire from the players and some good hunting down of the ball in groups especially second half.

Chapman is still a big disappointment for me. Just hasn't been affecting games enough.

Lewis yet another HUGE save to keep us in the game.

Nice to see us beating Betty's boys. Now for Salford. Win that and we are back in the game.
