Tonight and the Salford game stand out as our 2 best performances of the season for me. And the common factor was that we played with intensity and a real work ethic out of possession. We earned the platform to play and we were a little more mixed in our play. There’s a lesson there that we need to take into our home games.

 

I think the one thing we absolutely know for sure is that TWO goals is the ticket.

Sounds obvious, but there's not gonna be many games where we concede two - Wimbledon aside, and one of the earlier games, if we score two we're well on course for victory.

But getting the second goal has been beyond us recently... hopefully that restores the confidence of the attackers. Great goals from Richie and Cookie.

 

Even though I was wanting him to tear into the players after that, Harrogate, er, performance - I like him more for not doing so.

His type of 'you've let me down' type disapproval, clearly works.

And the closer we get to Walker's return with the gap to the Top 3 been not much, then the only way is up.

We have never been out of the 'mix' to be fair. Only 3 league defeats all season, 2 of which came very early in season.

2 points off autos, we are in a good position.

I have to admit I need to see it again but watching he looked to have dropped the ball, if so once again you have to question the referee, usually if the keeper drops the ball there's an infringement, but hay we got three points with a decent over all performance.

Great win tonight against a strong rival. Hughes will be delighted,his first game for us was a 2-0 home defeat by Mansfield and they outplayed us. We’ve come a long way forward since then.
