Probably discontent with Hughes playing negative football and a formation / style that suits little if any of our squad?
We’ve got about 94 forwards and wingers, yet start and finish games with one up top even when chasing a game?

I don’t know what Luton or Dion expect? The guy has played the majority of our games, when he really doesn’t warrant it. He runs around absolutely half-arsed and let’s be honest it’s only the last couple of games he’s played a part. Banks would be an ideal replacement should Dion be recalled, I certainly wouldn’t be losing any sleep over it. Huge anti climax as far as I’m concerned

    My view is:
Plus= Good tight control. Can pick a good pass.
Minus= Not fast. Seems to lose concentration. Could track back more. Seems reluctant to head the ball.
As things stand I wouldn’t be too upset to see him go.
    He needs to offer more.
With Eisa back in contention and Banks, then not sure he deserves a starting place.

Playing Mark Hughes’ brand of football must be frustrating for players, especially attacking ones. It’s bland and safe and far from exciting.
If Dion and Luton aren’t happy then fair enough, he’s not our player and I’m sure he would perform better in a team where the style and formation suit his game better.

I'm not sure he would. He's s luxury player who would be best suited coming on against a tired defence, rather than a starter. He plays the game like a preseason friendly and drifts out of the game for long periods. Having seen him this season I don't think it's down to formation, more down to application. He's struggled for whatever reason to beat his man in one on ones like he did last season. Maybe it's a confidence thing at the moment, but he hasn't performed to the same levels as last season and wouldn't be missed if he left in my opinion.

    It's bollocks.

He's played for both us and Luton this year so can't play for another club this season.

Yes, he'd have to drop down to non-league to play elsewhere this season.

This is the relevant section in the EFL regulations:

"In accordance with FIFA Regulations a Player may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play in official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to different associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer / autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs.

Clubs are advised that domestically the above applies to all registrations except Non- League, Short Term and Youth Loans, although Foreign Associations may include these loans as counting towards the rule."

Don't you have to actually come on the field of play for them though to count? He didn't register a minute with Luton this season, so in theory he should be able to play for another EFL club.

I thought he'd been involved in pre season friendlie(s) for Luton, which wouldn't count

He played 90 minutes in the League Cup again Newport County.
I think this is click bait by a journalist trying to make a name for himself. He's now trying to have a go at the City Vent and I don't think he realised that you can't play for 3 clubs so rather than admit he made it up he's claiming Luton have said it doesn't count and will probably put a clarification bit up soon after "speaking" to the EFL who say the League Cup appearance does count.
