The upcoming FA Cup tie gives Hughes a chance to change some players and maybe even the sideways/backwards way we play.

But i would not bet on Hughes changing it up, alas!

 

I’ll be honest I’ve been struggling to sleep recently, but thanks to Mark Hughes I’ve finally found the cure

 

No he contributed little.

 

So ponderous, sidewards, backwards, sidewards, repeat! Why does it take until late in the 2nd half before we actually look like we want to try and win the game?

 

It was the same crap as Tues night yet some on here think it’s great to watch.
It’s really not

How many points has Lewis saved us this season? I know it’s his job but he’s doing it better than most.

 

Bang on the money and the reason we did not win today. If Hughes is gonna insist on playing the ball out from the back he's gonna need to add a midfielder who is happy recieving the ball with his back to goal and happy to turn with it. Chapman the only one to be able to do it but we need a player who can do that recieving the ball from Platt and Critchlow. Otherwise we end up with our full backs getting the ball from them with the only option of passing it straight back because our central midfield doesn't offer itself as an option.

 

Wasn’t a bad game second half but we are our own worst enemy, that was worse than Sunday league from Gilliead. We need another decent quality CM.

 

That was on a par with pretty much most of what Adams and bowyer served up but no doubt Hughes will get a free reign.

Did the usual five mins get at them in the first half before reverting to type.

Too much interchange between wright, chapman and Pereira for anything resembling a rhythm could get going.

Smallwood and gillead overrun in midfield the whole game, although doesn't not excuse the shocking performance both put in with the ball.

Their front three frightened platt and critchlow to death, how they didn't do better with their numerous overlaps I don't know.

As usual, when without a goal cook contributing bugger all.

Beginning to be all to predictable now I'm afraid, same pedestrian play, giving the opposite side the ball after a goal, same substitutions at the same time it's ridiculous.

Pointless signing all these players and playing the same ones constantly in the same formation which isn't working.

Even the games we have won, it's been a hard watch. Wasn't bowyer fired for that, and he was operating with one hand behind his back

 

In years of management Hughes never won anything. It's now becoming obvious why

 

Our decision making and speed of it when in possession is absolutely appalling. We see a pass, delay making it, only for the opposition to squeeze up and then when we try to make the original pass, the player is marked so end up going backwards. It happens time and time again and I've got no idea why they hesitate making easy forward passes.

The mistake from Gilliead for the goal was what you'd expect from a young lad eager to impress on his debut rather than an experienced player. He's facing his own goal with a man up his backside yet decides to pass backwards without looking instead of just hooking the ball down the channel.

And whilst it was not a good performance, we still created more than enough to win, but as usual our poor finishing has cost us again. Chapman and Halliday excellent.

If you can't see what's wrong with this team and it tactics then you shouldn't be anywhere near the club.

The same crap every week.

Past it back, pass it sideways... Repeat.

It never goes forward because our players won't run forward.

Glad people's love affair with cook is over.

And the other issue, is we are not moving the opposition when we are recycling the ball/moving it across the centre of the park , so they retain their shape. When players make a run of the shoulder, the pass rarely gets released or fails to be completed...

 

Bollocks. Adams was an arrogant one dimensional deluded p*ick. No pattern of play.

Hughes team has a plan albeit we aren’t executing it very well at present. East in midfield makes us tick better football wise. Perreira is an impact sub. Banks offers more threat but has been crocked.

But go ahead and you throw in the towel….

 

It’s really hard to watch to be honest. Certainly not worth being awake at 5am for.

 

For the first time today, the crowd got frustrated and via a mixture of angst, derision and groans, I felt the booing at times from some, was uncalled for.

 

If we do nothing else other than start taking goal kicks directly, we'll be a better side. Get Banks back in for Perriera, Walker back into the mix and a quality CM to play next to Smallwood and we'll be fine.
