I don't know whether you saw it or not but prior to that, he was clearly becoming increasingly frustrated and was shouting at the players to get the ball forward instead of constantly playing it back or just passing it around at the back. He finally realised that wasn't going to happen, hence his instructions towards the end to hit it long.

I have never shown my displeasure by booing any performance over 60 odd years. Exasperated of course but booing …..is for kids.

ITV making an absolute arse of their highlights of our game.
Listen to their commentary of the highlights after their penalty.
Apparently we needed to get back in to the game but Lewis’s(who was in the Stockport net) brilliant save from the Palmer header prevented us from equalising and they held on.

Sums up why ITV don’t get any decent football coverage anymore.

Unfortunately I can't say the same Kev, I think as you get older you accept at times you'll get the odd poor performance but I have to confess attending the game at Blackpool under Simon Grayson was on par with the few gutless performances I have seen during my time watching City and I did make my feelings felt joining in the chorus of booing along with other 99% of City fans who watched that truly shocking 90 minutes.
What was disappointing was the team that day was not that bad on paper.
    Doyle
    Warnock, Killgallon, Vincelot, Chickson
    Law, McMahon, Guy
    Patrick, Wyke, McCartan.
I believe it was the climax to the situation with regards Rahic's interference at the time, when we believe the players down tools before the FA Cup 3rd round game at Yeovil Town.

I don’t boo, but I did walk out early on this one, just after Coventry scored their fourth. I think it was only the second time I have shown my displeasure by doing so.

I blame the new proposed badge for the defeat. The players were obviously distracted with worry by the thought of wearing it on the shirt it put them off there game

Not only challinor or Stockport who have realised that we took a fortunate point of Wimbledon and three of Wallsall.
Starting from the keeper it’s been drilled into them to play it short even when under extreme pressure platt got caught in possession a few times not knowing what to do with the ball. With the squad we have the performances should be a lot better. We need to find away of feeding our decent forward line and also creating more movement upfront to facilitate it

Funny you should mention that game as it was the game I spoke with Gary Bowyer pulling his leg with regards taking over from Hopkin, he said he was at the game to have a look at J Clarke-Harris.

It certainly will! But the warning signs have been there since the opening few games. We struggle to find a way through a massed and organised defence and we can't play in our preferred way when the opposition close us down quickly and deny us space to play in. As was demonstrated yesterday, we haven't learned how to deal with this.

Challinor had done his homework on us and no doubt others will in future games. We are predictable in open play and at set pieces and we need a Plan B (and C & D) when it's clear that the oppo have us sussed.

We cannot play the long game when Cook is up front on his own so we are somewhat restricted in how we play when we have one up top.

Once Oliver came on it was a different game. We had them pushed back and they put 5 at the back. 7 at times while we tried to find a way through.

Cannot wait for Walker to be back.

The worry is perhaps we’re too one dimensional. Our best spell against Wimbledon came when we went direct but it’s a tactic rarely deployed.

It’s also on ITV4 who, unless anyone knows otherwise, don’t have a HD channel, so the programme is grainy.

Whilst I agree with that, at the same time it doesn’t matter how many dimensions, how many options or what formation you play, if you’re lacking in urgency and second to every ball then I’m afraid you’re not going to achieve.
It’s that 10% we’re lacking - there’s a lot to be positive about, a lot of good things, but it all needs us to be on it for 90 minutes and giving everything we’ve got.

Didn't get to the game, heard I didn't miss anything :D

Normally I'd say 'not to worry', but actually Salford away next is not an ideal follow up fixture.

I don't want to see us lose two in a row, so the lads are going to have to prove themselves next week and the pressure is on to get the win.

him we thought that would be an avenue where we could play more direct.

Wright, Chapman and Pierera were too easily brushed off the ball yesterday, maybe time to bring the bigger lads back into the line up.

I actually thought we had started to weather the storm and started to play some nice intricate one and two touch football going through their midfield relatively easy but then it came to Dion (who looks to do a lot but just got caught in traffic!) or Wright (who seemed reluctant to use his pace on the outside initially) or Halliday and Foulds whose crossing weren't the best. Final third......then we give a stupid, sloppy penalty away....

I thought we were outfought, outmuscled but I can't say that I saw an awful lot of improvement once Oliver came on tbh...but Wi-Fi was buffering in Rhodes...
