If Stuart turned him down there’s no way Grayson will sign him.

 

No sure Grayson will be around to sign anyone, I remember certain owners saying instead of playing for draws we should go for the win, I've seen nothing in Graysons team selections so far to believe he's taken those comments on board.
Unless of course the bar has been lowered in Simons case.

I’ve seen plenty in his career. I think he made the mistake in his first few matches of trying to get another managers players to a system he believes in.
He likes to play with three centre halves and wing backs. A good system with the right players. I have no doubt he would be a good manager for us. I equally have no doubt he won’t be here next year.

 

Did this system work at Sunderland or couldn't they hoof it properly?

 

Hoof or not last Tuesday was more entertaining than practicaly anything we have seen this season. And the crowd reaction to it showed they agreed

 

I agree with most of that apart from the highlighted stuff, we have at our club a Championship manager (Simons words not mine) and were saying he could not get seasoned professionals like Kilgallon, McMahon, NKP, Vincelot, Law, Doyle, to play a certain formation, that in itself is very worrying.

 

Not really if you want to play to a system you bring in players who fit that system.
Most won’t agree but I think probably the player we have missed most this year is billy Clarke. He took a lot of criticism because of missed chances but he linked defence with attack very well. We recruited McCarten to take his place but he is a different player altogether.

And I disagree anyway. The result was positive and the reaction from the players too, but more entertaining than practically anything we have seen this season? Give over.

The crowd reaction was ramped up because the Kop wanted to try to drown out the noise of the opposing fans, not necessarily because of the quality on the pitch. Pompey made lots of noise and the K-Block Bantams retaliated.

It was more relief than anything else when we grabbed our goals

 

It was a reaction to us putting pressure on the opposition winning tackles and getting forward

 

Like you know that how? That might be what got YOU off your seat, but it wasn’t what everyone inside the ground did. Or were you monitoring crowd reaction based on tackles etc!

 

No I based it on crowd reaction to what was happening on he field even when we were getting results early in the season our play was staid and unexciting. We all like to see good “Football” but to play the pretty football people say they want you need better players than most of league one players. And you need a better playing surface.
So for instance in the position we are In I would much rather Parky back than Stuart any day of the week

 

He could end up in the lower leagues all his life or, he could sign for a league 2/1 club and smash it, scoring bangers and giving 900% per game. Who knows

He’s still only young, seriously. He could become great by the time he’s 27/28 and be playing the PL

He certainly does have talent he just needs the right coaching and mentoring and good support

 

Trust me, we do.

 

What talent? He's made 42 appearances in 5 years, mostly for lower league and non league clubs. You're in charge of your own destiny, and he's pissed his up against the wall. I don't believe this mental health bullshit - far too easy to cop out and say that. I'm pretty sure it's the second time he's come out and said he's all fixed up and ready to continue his career.
