    So the lad wanted a new England shirt for his birthday, have you seen the price?

    £60 for a junior shirt
    £75 for an adult shirt

    The blue bits on the shoulders are just yeuch. There's no blue on the England flag, so it's unnecessary.
    Plain white shirts with the three lions badge should always be the England home shirt. This is just marketing crap to sell shirts to kids and gullible idiots.

    Isn’t that what all new shirt releases are? There isn’t really any need to change a shirt unless there’s a new sponsor, new kit manufacturer or in the rare occurrence of a new club badge.

    Yes, I guess so. But it's possible to make more subtle changes, eg altering the collar from round to vee etc, without throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Changing the England shirt from smart, traditional all white to the latest accident in a paint factory, is a particularly desperate move in my view, which actually devalues the brand.
