Evans showed his true colours after the game and his post match comments proved he is a sore loser. Prior to the game he was full of praise for the club but yesterday showed that MH is correct in saying that we should concentrate on our game and not get sucked into playing into the oppositions hands.

Booked on with the Dolly for Grimsby, I don't think we'll have enough points for Salford.

    A poor comparison.

I think the logic that big teams with massive crowds are more likely to influence a referee is a far more realistic proposition. I understand your point that psychologically they might try to over compensate but it doesn't play out in reality.

Fast forward two seasons when we are in the Championship, you'll change your tune.

I said this a few weeks ago.
Why are refs in the top flight accused of being intimidated by big teams and give them all the decisions but at our level the refs are determined to show that they won’t be intimidated by the big teams and give them nowt?
All those refs in the Man Utd 1990’s heyday could have shown they weren’t intimidated by Ferguson and 70k fans but they didn’t.

We’ve all seen games where we don’t even notice the ref. They do exist. Some are just on an ego trip and think we’ve come to see them and some just aren’t up to the pace of the modern game.

    Good refs and shit refs.
    It’s as simple as that.

Usual patter of fans complaining because the referee doesn't give every decision to their team. Trying to find creative justifications for their misguided bias. If we were in a higher league then of course they'd revert back to the refs favour the big teams line of reasoning.

No tune to change its an opinion, I believe referees have made decisions in the past at Valley Parade with regards not being swayed by the large crowd in attendance no other club in league two are anywhere near our attendances.
Your Premier league examples are with regards them being big clubs but nothing to do with attendances hence my comment.

Heading the football is already banned at grass roots levels so yes I can see in the future it being banned in the senior game.

They’ve only themselves to blame in some ways though, book and start sending more of them off and it will soon get clamped down on. That’s my biggest gripe with refs a total lack of consistency when issuing bookings. The Stevenage keeper moved the ball about 5 times first half to take a free kick, the ref told him over and over again where to take it just give him a yellow and it’ll soon be in the right spot! Then there’s letting teams get away with constant time wasting, things like this aren’t split second decisions they have time to say that’s enough now but they don’t.

I was really surprised he didn't book their keeper. His behaviour amounted to dissent.

You’ve also seen enough games as well to realise that we’ve had decisions that have gone for us as well when they maybe shouldn’t have.

Agree that they need to start clamping down on dissent. Unless you have a time limit for time wasting how on earth is consistency possible. Every ref will have to make their own judgement on what constitutes time wasting. The free kick yesterday was a bit silly but the ref created an unnecessary issue by being too fussy. He should've just let him get on with it.

Thank God it won't be in my lifetime the powers that be are making a simple game hard changing rules that have been in place since the game started and add nothing to the game except frustration for both players and fans, the offside rule being a perfect example.

I could discuss refereeing all day.
Some of it is truly shocking.
They stop free kicks being taken because a team has taken it a foot away from the right place but completely ignore throw ins that gain 10 to 15 yards advantage on a regular basis.
They are human so will obviously make mistakes but
just getting the basics right would be a start

I don't suppose anyone has a link to show the foul throw by Stevenage in the second half have they?
The commentator said he threw it overarm like a 'keeper.
If so, how the chuff did he think he was going to get away with that?
