Gilliead showed on Tuesday, when it comes to the dirty stuff he's up for it.
I admit i've slagged him off in the past but in this holding role with Smallwood he is vital to this team.
As Hughes has stated, he is one of the fittest lads in the squad with the highest training stats.
His timing on interceptions has massively improved and he can carry the ball better than most.
Songo'o is a sub at best in the league this season unfortunately.

Its great that this team and manager has got us all talking and watching all things City in the aftermath of games and in the build up to the next match.
Attendances at VP are up 20%, Youtube views on City matches are well up on previous seasons, away matches sell out quickly.
Good times being a bantam, and we are only 6th FFS!!

 

Had a quick look at Stevenage's results this season.. 11 played, 9 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat to Salford in stoppage time.

Can't deny, that is impressive.

 

If we can get a positive result today, that will be impressive and send a message out to the rest of the division.

 

I was watching a few of their highlight games last night. Pretty much reliant , as Park said, ( I was wrong) on ….a) long throws , HIGH looping free kicks and corners to the BACK post for headers back across the box. ( Hanson/ Wells style) .
Expect lots of skull duggery out wide trying to buy free kicks and 5 to 3 at the back ..5 whilst defending and 3 when going forward.

Their style reminds me of Rotherham when Evans was there. They are no mugs and I doubt this will be a formality?

 

This will be a game of patience, we need to keep the ball and hit them quickly. I doubt their backline is set up to be able to deal with the pace we have in the team. But I do think they will pack the defence to snuff out our attack’s so expect some level of frustration.

 

I expect a lot of rolling around and going down at the slightest touch. Anything to con the ref and get us, the fans frustrated. It’ll be a typical Evans team performance where we mustn’t get drawn in.

 

Not sure those tactics will work as we've seen so far this season referees letting far my physical challenges go and playing on.

 

It'll be a lot easier if we score first as they will definitely be set up to defend and hoof and win the scraps.

Hoping we have a fast start and get at them.

 

In that case kick them back. They can't run without legs.

Wow he went there? I was thinking when he was released, he’d be a great signing but too good (still) fit L2. Is he in some sort of coaching capacity?
