Fair point, I’m not expecting 70% possession and 6-0 victories but plenty of successful L2 teams manage to win games comfortably on a consistent basis (eg 2+ goal margin of victory). That is achievable for this team.

 

My son showed a clip of the Tranmere goal from their twitter site from a different angle. It shows Critchlow going to clear the ball when he gets 2 hands in the back and forcefully pushed into the hoardings, right in front of the lino. Things tend to even up. Thankfully, our manager and players reacted in the proper positive manner.

 

Just seen that clip. Anyone blaming Critchlow for the goal would do well to take a look at it.

 

Yes when you look at it from that angle it’s a different story. Still should have put it into touch nevertheless. The game would have stopped, however yes clearly pushed.

 

Just as important though is why didn't the lino flag, it's a disgrace when you see what else the officials blew up for ?

A concern is we have supporters like you who aren't happy we look a better side than we have done for years and are developing what is practically a whole new squad and getting better by the week.

 

Can’t change it after the event but we should be sending the footage to the assessor to look at. Referees and officials should be consistent from the top leagues down to the lower leagues. It’s the only way to stamp out the Stone Age tactics of dinosaur managers.

 

Did anyone else see Timi and Glyn Hodges after the match when all the players and staff were coming over to applaud the fans??
Odusina wasn't a happy lad at all.
Hodges was trying to either cheer him up or was saying get a grip but Timi wasn't having any of it so Hodges does that 'I give up' gesture and walks off and leaves him by himself.

 

In fairness weren’t they running directly towards the linesman before he dodged out of the way. If I’m reading it correctly the Lino wouldn’t see the push as it was obscured by Crichlows body?

Benefit of the doubt on his behalf . But not the ref.!

 

His time will come…He needs to understand that!

 

VAR would more likely have given us a penalty when Cook was dragged to the floor from a corner in the second half.

He even pointed the pulling out to the referee before the corner came in so he definitely didn't just not see it.

 

Being at the other end you couldn't see that incident clearly but what's is the point of linesman if they do not flag for what is a blatant foul.

 

Your correct Kevin his time will come, Hughes has already said everyone will get their chance and we are looking solid in CD but Timi is our player where as Crithlow is on loan, great position for Hughes to be in, and I like that Timi is giving both Hughes and Hodges a hard time it shows how passionate he is far better than going through the motions and picking a wage up.

 

Apart from offsides,the majority of linespeople(can’t call them assistant refs ) are totally ineffective.
They even wait for the ref to tell them which way a throw in should be.

 

Absolutely. A much better attitude than Kelleher last season who in one interview, said he wasn't bothered not to be playing, he was just glad he didn't have to do a proper job.
