The irony there is it’s called the I league yet you must be blind to sign players like Guthrie.

 

The CB's in that league must also be blind, if he's getting 13 in 18 games

 

Our former player Ashley Westwood was the manager that signed Guthrie, he left india in the middle of last season. Doesn't look like the second division in India pulls in the crowds, had a look at some games and theres about 4 men and a dog in attendance.

Exciting transfer deadline day ahead it would seem. This thread should be a hive of activity I should imagine.

Luton given in to the mighty Bantams pressure to bring Dion back?

 

Maybe Dion? Think that would take us up to the 5 loans but I can't see that Wolves goalie getting in many squads so could bring two in but might want to keep one loan slot up his sleeve for January.

For me, I'd want another midfielder. Don't really like the look of Sutton in any of the slots, gives good energy off the bench but the quality isn't there. Gilly has been hit n miss but his fitness again is an issue. East, looks very inexperienced, hit and miss so far. Might want another head in that slot.

 

A quality deep lying play maker and a better option on the left wing. That's what I think we need.

I think there may be one or two surprise departures too.

 

Pereira still not in the Luton squad tonight.
You really have to think if a league 1 team had wanted him,he would have gone by now.

 

Gilly has been excellent since he moved back I hope he is back soon

The biggest takeaway from our opening to the season is that we struggle against teams who defend deep. However he does it, I think that's the problem Hughes will try to solve. He must see what we see, that Angol on the left doesn't work. And as much as Gillead and Sutton have different qualities in that deep midfield role, neither of them are really about picking a pass through the opposition.

I know there's talk of Perreria and Hughes is keen but for me he's too similar to what we have. I'd prefer to see more of a flying left winger come in.

 

Have to disagree you unpick tight defences with moments of skill and Dion has it in abundance

You might offend some by mentioning Sutton and not good enough in the same sentence.?

 

Agree 100% with all of that and I say that as one of Pereiras biggest fans and someone who has been keen for him to come back all window.
