    Reece Staunton has signed for Bradford Park Avenue for an undisclosed fee with a sell on clause. Obviously Hughes didn’t rate him as a first team defender

    What?!!

    Wasn't the consensus on here that he turned down a loan move to Halifax as he had a switch to Real Madrid lined up instead?

    Not surprised. No disrespect to the lad but I never saw much in him . Avenue paying a transfer fee for him……..what next?

    I agree Kevin, McCall used to wax lyrical about him but then said he’d only play him as one of a three at the back. He had a trial at Halifax but they didn’t take it any further.

    It's a bit odd that they've paid a fee for him but only given him a one year deal with option of another. They must have paid peanuts.

    Well I am not going to deride the lad he had a run of games when he first came into the team where he was very good and it was said a few teams were looking at him. And the friendly against Derby apart he has been decent every time I have seen him play. I am going to hospitality at the Scarborough BPA match next Tuesday so we will see how he does but I think it is a very good signing for them

    Was never going to be good enough from what I saw of him. People got excited thinking he was going to make the club ££££ based on absolutely nothing. Good luck to the lad but he’s found his level.

    Wasn't there chatter on here about Arsenal watching him a season or two ago?! Hopefully this kicks starts his career. Big move for him. It's now or never for the lad now. Gambling on his own belief in himself. I guess he could even move on and back to league football in the January transfer window if he does well.

    Apparently had a naff spell at BPA last winter from all accounts.

    Was the best of a bad bunch under McCall 2 years ago but is too injury prone. Had knocks before, bad injury under mccall then a few of the same since. Terrible trend for a lad turning 21. Win win for both parties. We get a fee and covered ourselves for the future. Reece gets to try build a career.

    He was part of Stuart's cheapy squad that did so poorly. Got game time at a very young age, which is an easy way to attract interest from the higher ups, but then no manager since had an interest in playing him.

    Glad he's still in the game. Might pop down to BPA at some point and see how he looks.

    I think one or two more could leave before the window closes, Kian Scales isn’t going to get a look in and I expect Songo’o to join Derek Adams at Morecambe before the end of August.
