Glad this thread is still about car parking at VP

I will second what has been said before, Park in Broadway for £2 and either have a gentle walk up or spend the saving from what works out at £10 a game to get a taxi up.

It's not getting there thats a problem, it's finding a way out and back to your car in the pi55ing rain after a defeat that I dread...

Well by the sound of it when you get out of the ground in the pissing rain after a defeat you are stuck in the car park for near on an hour to compound that misery.

Still no email from City. They have unhappy customers and they are hiding behind a cupboard somewhere.

Thanks for the update. Am I writing to the wrong person? Michael Shackleton was the person whom I sent my 2 emails too.

Got there early yesterday - around 2.00 pm
Plenty of spaces at the far end of the car park
    But what a dump
And what a walk to the stadium

I saw a post today on facebook that someone had their Land Rover Discovery stolen from Queens Road bridge last night.

It's amazing that for the police coverage given for football games that car crime is so rife. This has been an issue for years. It's not as bad as it used to be, there used to be several per game.

It really is a shame that it either costs a fortune to have sub par facilities or you risk your car being broken into when you attend a game.

I always park at Broadway now, however for those who aren't as mobile, it's not really an option.

Easy target for the thieves, owner not going to be back for a couple of hours, nights drawing in, no pedestrians on that road in an evening.
In bits in a container by now.

last time I went in broadway it took forever to get out as you pay at the exit now, rather than machines.
Cineworld similar price/ location and loads quicker.

Is it still easy to hotwire cars these days? Really have no idea how they do it. I get the "coat hanger down the window" thing...but after that, I've no idea what is done to actually drive away in a car when you haven't got the keys.

A lot of expensive cars have keyless ignition. The theif is nearby when locked with a scanner to read the signal. The rest is easy to the thieves. Be smart and use a crooklovck or similar

Wow high tech stuff (even for Bradford - I'll get me coat!). Kind of makes sense I suppose. Need some sort of blocker like phone cases have these days.

It’s hit and miss - sometimes it takes a while, other times you’re straight out. Been OK so far this season, but they’ve improved the road layout at the exit which helps. I’m not sure why some people get stuck at the barrier when paying though and then hold everyone up!

Usually because they haven't got their card ready and have to start looking for it etc. A bit like people that get to the till at the shop and then start looking for their wallet

And don’t mention the people who rifle through their entire bag trying to find 23p in coppers.
