In fairness I think I should point out that SM was sacked, not resigned. My feeling would be that SM felt he'd made a pigs ear of the job last time and was determined not to go of his own choice. He stuck it out until sacked.

Deservedly sacked...he was hanging on for his pay off AND he is to blame for the crap new 2nd and 3rd strips.

Fair question on why he’s still around, however the signings this summer seem to have generally been pretty good, so a good job he’s around and that some people aren’t trigger happy.

 

I think I got the 'deservedly' bit right as well. We were never going anywhere with him in charge. Really if he is that good how come NO ONE has picked him up. Even McCann got picked over him for the Doncaster job.

 

During his first season he almost eclipsed what Phil Parkinson failed to do, in spite of Edin & Stefan interference.

Maybe he was interviewed and did a Simon Grayson, thank you, but no thank you.

Yes Stuart was not employed at the time, Edin & Stefan didn't have anyone lined up once Phil Parkinson didn't want the job under their model, so it was a good deal for both parties
Possibly a good job Stuart didnt get us promoted or they wouldnt have had chance to sack him, he would have been almost untouchable after hgetting us into the Championship.

 

I think the most important word in your response is 'almost'. Which in other words could be 'failed to'.

Yes I expected no more from you @Norman Corner, he also had us in the top 6 all the following season with first team players going down with long term injuries and unfortunatly their replacements were not good enough.

His excuse that it was everyone else's fault not his is clearly not washing with prospective employers. I doubt there is a single McCallite who thought that he would still be out of the game at this point.
