But that is the judgement referees are asked to make. I think the referee got it wrong. He showed the yellow very quickly without consulting his assistant who was in a better position to see it.
Yes I am a City supporter, but I saw it in real time from a very good position and Ravenhill endangered his opponent. Watching it on video has not changed my mind. I struggle to see how you view it differently.

    No.

Bradford player looked to be playacting more than anything.

    What a game!

    Crap result.

Doncaster came for a draw. Utterly cynical time wasting.

Drama so many Donny players ‘fall’ to the ground if anywhere near a City player. High board diving!!

Horrendous challenge on Osadebe! Reminiscent of Gray on Watson!

Ref far too quick to issue a yellow card, rather than review the true gravity of the situation.

City offered little threat on goal.

This was ‘trench warfare’ football. Lots of effort but little progress.

Our approach play largely ground to a halt on the edge of the box.

Mono plan. Get it out to Halliday/Ridehalgh who’s crosses were easy for the Donny centre backs to deal with.

Why not mix it up with channel balls or ‘over the top’.

    Far too predictable.

Tomlin. Said it before, but he is a busted flush.

Harratt, we left as the whistle blew so didn’t see the incident….but a straight red is a 3 match ban.

Attendance of 19,638 an all time record for the fourth tier. WE collectively are immense!

Obviously not. That was a stupid comment hence why im gauging it from a range of individuals. I took it as a tasteless tongue in cheek comment.

I have never said it was unequivocally not a red card. I just don't think it's nearly as clear cut as most on here make out.

Yes , but he was not alone today in the crossing stakes . We were poor from both the flanks . Sutton however was the biggest disappointment for me , I expected more. He looked unfit and badly out of position. Perhaps I’m misreading his role when he came on, but cover Osadebe, he certainly didn’t.

It was his trailing leg that did the damage he did take the ball there is no debate about that, and there is no debate it was a reckless no one could interpret that as controlled, straight red both the linesman who was stood no more that 10 yards away and an inept referee bottled the decision.

I think it’s the twisting leg that’s broken it. The momentum was very hard, but possibly not the reason the leg got broken.
Either way, devastated for the lad. Probably looking to come back in the new year if all goes well.

I said to myself after 20 mins, it would be a goalless draw. But after the first sending off I had great hope for the second half....pfft. The extra man gave us an even bigger share of possession but we failed to commit enough players forward when attacking. We lacked pace and vision and numbers!. Too cautious even with a man advantage. On the plus side, the possession was good and Critchlow excelled.

Your last sentence is the key. Excessive force when it was clear the other player wasn't doing the same. That was old school let him know you are here but in the modern game. Based on modern laws red card. Many will judge it based on rules ten years ago and as many fans are 30 plus thats why it's being defended

If it was Cory Evans or Elliot Embleton on the end of that tackle, I bet they would change their tune.

If the second leg/foot comes through with momentum (your words) then he isn't in control of his body or the challenge and is therefore endangering his opponent which is where the red card comes in.

I'm guessing Hughes told us to get as many crosses into the box - which we did. Shame no one was on the end of them. I thought Walker needed to provide an outlet for the forwards, but he was playing too high up. Halliday looked rusty, as did Sutton. I think once we've started to gel (that old chestnut), the players will know each's game a bit more. I don't think any of them know what to provide Oliver with. Angol didn't do much. Harratt looked decent when he came on, but him and Cook were way too fired up to be effective. Cook looks like he's just walked off the Peaky Blinders set - both in haircut and aggression.

Its a good point about excessive force. Deciding what is excessive is still hugely subjective. If you're Ravenill going in for that challenge you're fully anticipating Osadebe to come in with the same force. He has to go in hard to get their first. How are you supposed to train that out of footballers who are given the simple brief of winning every 50/50.

You may well be correct. However he could have recovered by the end of the year, and with Physio + Conditioning training be good to play by March, that would be seven months.

Well only those in your block obvs. Where do you sit in case anyone on here cares to counter your assertion?

Of course they would. You've proved my point. You'd also have a lot less on here calling for a red card because as neutrals we'd see it completely differently.

100% correct and when you make a challenge like that taking the ball and the man it does not matter that he got to the ball first his momentum was the dangerous part of the challenge, as the kid Osadebe found out.

Ravenhill was coming in sideways studs up on the floor-are you simply wanting to ignore how dangerous that type of tackle is? Its not a 50/50 block tackle that you allude to.
