That’s exactly what worries me. We do have Smallwood who is strong in the tackle and Platt who is a big lad. But East who looks tidy seems easily brushed off and Crichlow who again looks a decent footballer is probably not the strongest

 

I would be more than shocked if Cook was leading from the front and not on the bench. I suppose Oliver’s match fitness is the factor.

I've been banging on about the lack of a DM in the team other than Smallwood. East is built like a kid, Gilliead is not the answer. Maybe Songo'o? I think this is the position that MH will be looking to add to as the transfer window draws to a close.

 

We shall see, clearly he’s brought in East to develop imho and he’s got a great engine.

 

if we are going for a low block then partnering Smallwood with Songo does make sense. But I just feel that we’d struggle with getting the ball to the attackers quickly if they are the main midfield duo. We do need someone like East in the middle of the park who can spray passes across the pitch

 

Gillead showed at the end of last season he could be the answer

 

Yes it’s a trade off….Offensively at home games, maybe Songo away, but then potentially we lose the incisive pass?
