Why is Abbott still here ?

The biggest worry for me is not the pre season games it’s the lack of fitness once again in the Squad
Last season was made far worse by the constant injury list and the general lack of fitness and I know it is early days but it seems to be going that way again.. with players sitting out what is a vital stage of preparation

 

Take no notice of @Keefly Bantam he isn't well.

Well at least Chris Short cant be blamed as he was last season, you are correct we shouldn't be picking up strains and pulls in the first week or so of pre-season training, but maybe Robert Lossau is getting them super fit and this might be the consequence of hard session's early pre-season.

 

Very similar to last season, plenty of players available who could come in and do a job, but who were far from the quality they were replacing.

 

Come on @Two Legs, we may be shite but we will be the fittest shite in League One :thumbsup:.

Do we still have a situation of players not wanting to play. Where are the likes of JONES, WYKE, ROBINSON,REEVES. McCARTON, etc,etc.Seems strange none ofthem getting any game time coming up to the start of the season.

Patrick got a long contract because he had a fluke good game or two, Edin saw pound signs in his eyes and was panicked into signing him up.

 

Let's wait and see whether they play on Tuesday against Sheffield. It may be that they are being saved for that one and the coaches have used the earlier 2 games to check out squad players and development players to see if they are ready to do a job if called upon (I think they have learnt that many are probably not). If that is the case and they are going to address it by bringing a bit more quality in then it will have been a useful exercise. However, if on Tuesday night they continue to arse about with disjointed teams of youngsters and inexperienced players with a token couple of senior players thrown in (and Devine playing virtually the whole game again), then I will start to worry.

In the history of football every club signs duff players so i dont know why people think we should be any different.

Remember Sheffield bought Hanson
What better way to,display our "up and coming talent" than against a team
with money and not afraid to speculate
This will be the driving force for most of our season
Early days yet but on the evidence of the first two matches it won't be pleasant

 

Well hopefully Vincelot will play a blinder, Sheffield will renew their interest in him and offer to take him off our hands

As I said in another thread along with CW he is yet another player who's sale value
has tumbled since the Yeovil fiasco
For me they can take him for free

 

Rahic calls the shots Ricky, Abbott and the others do what they're told.
They are only useful to Rahic as a buffer between his own decisions and the consequences of them if it all goes horribly wrong. Fall guys is what they are IMO

 

The worry some of us have HSCG is that City haven't even bought the lottery ticket yet.

I'm no gambler but a better example would be a horse race or maybe a football match. You look at the evidence and form and take a punt based on info or opinion of some sort. A lottery is just that, a random result based entirely on chance.
