Diamond had an off night but we’ve seen him demolish our defence 3 times last year, I think Sunderland will want rid for at least a season. Great all round performance last night, we are on the up.

No chance Diamond doing another year in L2. What does he gain from a 4th year in a row? Hes making the step up if he leaves Sunderland.

I think Dion could return but I wouldnt be alarmed if he doesn't. Think we have enough.

Because he played as a central striker trying to hold up the ball with his back to goal.

Give him the ball at his feet with the chance to run at defenders and he's shown he's more than good enough for league two. He'd be brilliant in one of the three behind a central striker. Like Sergio said he'll probably go to league one.

I was thinking more a permanent move for Diamond. Can see Sunderland letting him go now they are in the Championship

Well players playing in there natural positions a squad that actually looks half decent and a manager who actually knows what he’s doing :) let’s just hope this ain’t another false dawn because if we play up to our full capabilities then I think we will walk this league ........... it’s not just what happened in pre season it’s what was happening at the back end of last season ............... he got a bang average side looking half decent so logic says that you add more strength to it then your bound to do well

Someone mentioned a few scouts were looking at Cook including Carlisle.

Thought he was bang off it last night, way behind Oliver and Angol in terms of troubling defenders, winning headers and holding the ball up.

Not sure what it is with him, but when he jumps he always jumps a few feet in front of the defender instead of up close and in running situations is more often bullied off the ball. I'll be very surprised if he starts out first game.

He isn't really the biggest or quickest, a similar shape to say Windlass perhaps, but cook isn't clever enough to win free kicks or beat the defender in the same situations that windlass could.

You could see the massive difference Oliver made winning nearly every header against their centre half

Agree with that. What we are seeing is just how many options the strength of the squad has. If we were allowed 5 subs last year, it would have made no difference. This season looks so different. Hope Mark can keep all players happy.

Jack Clarke and Ross Stewart combined transfer value nearly more than our squad.

He is a goalscorer the rest of his game has never been great. But it’s good to see him much fitter which is bound to allow him to be more mobile

He's not got the mobility Park. The front man starts the pressing and he can't do it.

Yet for all that he will still get us 10-15 goals this season. To get anybody else in to do that will cost silly money unless we drop on a lucky loan from prem.

Simon Parker announced having talked to Hughes that Eisa is injured again with a significant injury. Doesn’t require surgery but going to be out a while. Maybe we ought to go for Jack Diamond as Eisa seems like a permanent sick note.

Nothing to do with City. That was Sunderland camera kit, feed and stream.

Cook was decent, Angol was poor.

In fact they had almost identical scenarios bursting forward against two defenders, guess which one failed to make an easy pass and gave the ball away, and guess who retained possession and played a pass that continued the attack?

Is this gonna be the season?

Are you sure? I've assumed that the kit is a permanent fixture at each ground. Do you know that they brought their own cameras?

I reckon he will be off before the end of August. Harratt and Oliver will be the main men up front, and I cannot see Cook happy to play 4th or 5th fiddle in our current squad
