    Every player knew his job and our play was clear. No forward pass, start again-don't give it away.

    Smallwood is class, dropping short creating space in behind.

    Not getting carried away but boy is it refreshing to see us actually play with a real purpose and clear patterns of play.

    He had little impact but tried hard in a role that wasn't his.

    Imagine Cook playing in centre midfield or Pereira playing as a central striker. Neither will do well in a position that they are not used to. Just saying "he was crap" is inaccurate.

    Thought it was a very tidy display, where we were on top for large spells of the match. Some slick play. Halliday and Critchlow had great games, also Walker was very combative. For a friendly it was played with a lot of endeavour.

    So why play him so wildly out of position.? He was crap in it…be honest ? If that was an experiment he will be at York next year. It didn’t do him any justice.

    Agree he tried hard-no doubt but would like to see a fit Oliver and Angol in the same side. Oliver looked dangerous when he came on winning every header and some nice touches on the floor. Get the feeling Cook will be pushed down the pecking order.

    I explained on an earlier post, Kev. They don't have enough forwards. They need to sign at least two. They're seemingly holding back their only main one at the moment. Ross Stewart I think he is.
