Late evening? Such as 7 o clock, for example?

You've answered the question posed though with your opening line. It really is as obvious as that.

Just because other countries have these temps regularly doesn't mean we should be fine with it… i think you'll be in for a shock come Tuesday.

Lack of A/C and insulated houses will make for a difficult experience.

If it was at 2pm or 3pm i would have expected it to be brought forward to where it is now. Think the heat will cause a shorter, slower game and a longer rest period afterwards.

Why will I be in for a shock? I've just come back from Corfu where it was mid 30s every day.

I just stayed in the shade and drunk plenty. It wasn't rocket science and contrary to popular opinion on here I never felt like there should be a nationwide heat emergency called.

I'm also off to Turkey in a few weeks where it will be just as hot for 10 days. I'm sure I'll be fine though, I'll keep you all updated.

My initial reply to you was in defence of BigRod's original post which I felt was a reasonable question to raise and has stimulated some debate - job done. You however thought otherwise and cited some examples, which I challenged you on.

I never confirmed my views on Tuesday's match in my first reply but noted this and clarified my position when responding for the second time. I haven't answered my own question as I never claimed it would be too dangerous to play on Tuesday.

Anyway, I'll take it you concede on all other points I've challenged you on as you've gone quiet in relation to my counter arguments on those specific issues.

I bid you a good day.

How can I challenge you on the weather of a day that hasn't even arrived yet?

We don't even know the temperature of the Sunderland game yet, it's just a forecast at the minute, so quite how I'm (or you for that matter) supposed to know what the temperature in Qatar during the games will be is anyone's guess.

I’ve watched cricket in Australia when it was 40+ and yes I’m aware it is a different sport but to give a more relative example the AFL season had just started and they were playing in 32-33 degree heat so it’s not exactly impossible. The World Cup in 2002 in Japan and Korea regularly hit high temperatures if I remember.

But as Dave said on page one, if it’s a danger just move it 24 hours back to Wednesday it’s just a friendly.

I will be fitting windows from Monday morning , all through the week 8am till 5pm. Not kicking a ball around at 7.45 pm for about an hour. We will be slapping on the sunscreen and drinking plenty of water or should the world just stop because its too hot. common sense needs to prevail, or have we lost this in the UK.

    Exactly.
Other countries have regular runs of weeks with high temperatures and subsequently the people in those countries adapt to it yet our politicians and our national and local broadcasters start talking to people like they are idiots because it’s going to be hot for 2 (two) days.

Well they adapt in many different ways. Malta for example , been numerous times. Building works seldom takes place during the daytime for example. There’s always a solution. Nothing wrong playing tues as long as water is freely available and ample breaks ar3 given.

    25 - 40 degrees is a normal Aussue summer.

Funny how everyone's doing lots of drama but come two weeks away for summer holidays abroad and this is the weather everyone's looking for.

To be fair, it's a bit different chilling by the pool doing sweet f.a to either working directly in it or in a stiffling office with no air con. The first option, yes please, the second, not so much of a fan.

I was in Bologna from last Tuesday until yesterday morning. Afternoon temperatures were 35-37° each day. It certainly felt too hot to do anything much except sit in the shade and eat, drink and read. There was precious little sign of any strenuous activity in the afternoons. Shops all shut from 1 until 5 and no roadworks, building work etc going on. They clearly adapt their lifestyle to accommodate regular hot weather.

Well if the club were gonna move it, they would have done it by now. Too late to be moving dates.

I trust that the club recognises that fans of both teams arriving at VP on Tues night should be allowed access with their plastic bottles of water. It would be quite immoral of the club in the hot weather to expect fans to buy their water at over inflated prices at the kiosks.
