Is that regarding the PL ? I think you'll find it was regarding the Championship. OK, so it might not happen, come next May. But was it a promise, or legally binding statement ? NO. It was a vision based on hope.

If the article is true, and we are cutting back on the non-playing side, that confirms to me that our main investor has no further interest in the club.

It was lying to the fans.

Didn't you go to game when they stood on the pitch giving a speech.

Lying to harccore fans isn't good. Back the manager with money or just sell the club. Simple really.

It doesn't square with investing a lot of money in renovating the pitch this summer though. At this point in time, until we see
    a) who the manager is next season
    b) which players we buy, sell, recruit, release
    c) what is spent on the pitch and other infrastructure

we can't conclusively say what is going on behind the scenes. What we have is hearsay, rumour, some limited information from those in the know, invented tosh from WUM's plus a lot of frankly shit stirring and negativity.

I am looking forward to seeing what we do in the last few games then I am off for the summer. I shan't be on here until there is something concrete to discuss in the public domain or about an actual match. It is too irritating and depressing. Not aimed particularly at you Hulme, but it's no wonder Ed on C&B lost the will to run it any more.

I have a feeling there will be plenty to discuss this summer

I'm not sure Stefan ever had "hot feet" with regards our football club, he openly said his involvement with regards his financial input was a gamble he was happy to take.
We were allegedly putting bids in January for players how many were we successful with ?.
I don't think with regards the football club standing on its own two feet has ever been different, and I do genuinely believe the non footballing positions within the club were generated to bring extra revenue into the club, but those jobs very much depend on the success of the footballing side of the club.

Without being itk, on the surface it doesn't feel as if we are moving forward.Cost cutting would always be a part of any good business restructure, as would the provision of adequate funds for investment. The pitch situation is supposedly in the schedule as a priority...but is yet to be carried out of course. No one knows just how much Rupp is prepared to put in or even if he has the desire to. Edin appears to be on his own financial thin ice and can't offer much if anything. The sponsorship issues, if true, are of local concern and the fact that in 18 months or so, no other notable sponsorship streams have been brought in by marketing (so another negative). There has to be some sort of seismic response beneath the surface being sought, because you just do not stumble from one crisis to another, unless you are unable to progress the Club fortunes. I truly hope that we haven't been fleeced, but I personally feel that by offering no verbal statement of affairs or intent, particularly now when the Club needs a kick up the backside and the fans need encouragement..well..I just hope the deafening silence from within means positive actions are happening behind the scenes and not the reverse.

I would consider their statements as both folly and blase. It wasn't right, and certainly misleading. Yet consider this .......... Like the rest of us - were they just caught up in the hype, at that time?

IF they have regrets and are no longer willing to carry City forward, then yes .......... To claw any of their cash back, and also retain the good name of BCAFC, and it's fans - They must consider selling NOW.

A very concise post of which I just about agree with every word.
My fear currently is that the situation is going to get progressively worse before it gets any better.
How long this rapid decline throughout the club manifests itself is anyone's guess, but it needs to bottom out very quickly otherwise I can see us back in the basement division and that fills me with dread

We must all consider the relationship between Edin and Stefan, too. They entered into the Marriage of BCAFC at free will. One invested all he had, whilst the other, just a 'token'.
It would be so sad for all concerned (including us fans), if this relationship were to be so short lived, and soiled by yet another messy divorce. :(

Edit; Rhodes and Gibb, anyone ? :(

I think this article reflects many feelings the supporters are feeling atm. I won’t go through them again as @pns1945@pns1945 has more than adequately outlined them. The communication with the fans has been abysmal, we are not given updates on what is happening if anything, but I do know this we are the engine that drives the business model, and ignoring the the loud clanging noises will not make the problems go away, a massive chunk just fell off 30% in season ticket sales, which was also lack lustre campaign. I agree with @Allotment Bantam@Allotment Bantam why invest in the pitch if no further investment is forthcoming?

I think a lot of complaints about lack of announcements from the owners is because we became so used to Lawn taking to press every other day with what was going on in every bit of the club.

Does this happen at every club, not sure but probably not. Are all the fans at those clubs clamouring for daily/weekly updates about sponsorship deals, internal politics etc?

Things have changes at the club and some people do not want to move with the times and are creating rumours and tensions that are not there, eg JCT no being on the shirt next year.

    Too true Dave
If it ain't broke don't fix it
Have seen a few posters on here mention a David Baldwin led consortium (if true) really don't know what they have to purchase. When our current owners bought the club we were a club on the up Parkinson had us going the right way Players who were proud to play for the shirt and more importantly good will by the bucket load but still very few material assets. In my opinion all that has gone now and we either need to rebuild or sell to the "consortium" at a vastly reduced price either way it's going to cost. We need to start entertaining the fans again which will then generate more revenue through hospitality.sponsorship.spending in the ground etc etc. Otherwise I really can see the dark days looming again. Bit like owning a shop if there is nothing appealing in the window you won't attract many customers in to buy. But like you we are only fans so what do we know

From your past statements on how many businesses you own and your regular eating appointments in Chelsea, you appear to be a man of means. Why don't you assemble some of your own money, put a bid in to Rahic & Rupp and become the owner of City? It should only cost a few mill whuich to a man like you is probably just pocket money.

And when you're in absolute control, you'll be able to get rid of Mason and Wyke and Law and Grayson and Killa and Doyle and everybody else who you've bad mouthed over the last few years. You could bring back Stephen Darby and get your own manager in situ who can have complete control of assembling your playing squad, and in doing so, spend more of your own hard earned money of course.

And meanwhile when things go a little awry, when it turns out you've been lying to the fans, when the next fordy fans start saying the squad is a shambles, the team's tactics are woeful and the club has no ambition, we can all turn our attention to you as the new owner and demand that you get out of our club. Deal? :)

We should have taken a leaf Everton's book they sent a questionnaire out to fans about their present manager, how embarrassing is that ?.

Not read the JCT rumor, with regards them not being our shirt sponsors next season.

The JCT/Mitton rumour that they had walked away from the sponsorship has been discussed on here.

Everton send that questionnaire out every year with the same questions, it is just their current manager that questioned it

I know there had been talks but didn't realise it got down to our two biggest sponsors walking away hence my question.

Didn't know that was a regular situation at Goodison, never too old to learn.
