Billy Clarke did at at Charlton and Plymouth - family remained in Menston. Money must've been too good to turn down....!

Likewise, but mentally, physically and relationship wise it’s awful. From memory he said that himself.

Im sure it was....He had a bad injury at Charlton though so maybe that was a bit of a blessing. He was back in Leeds for a long period.

They might have thrived under Hughes, but were they Hughes' type of player?

I think he expects hard work all over the pitch, not sure either were really workhorses, though Vaughan did try a lot harder than Doyle ever did.

I'd personally love to see us playing with Oliver + Angol/Cook up front.

I think that's a pretty bloody impressive strike force for League Two. Oliver is a big lad who's played everywhere from non-league to League One, and I'm pretty sure he's not a shrinking violet. Cook and Angol are a handful on their own, but playing alongside Oliver? Could be tasty.

I'm not sure we'll always go two up top due the number of wingers/attacking midfielders we've collected, but we could cause defences problems next season for sure.

Vaughan was a very hard worker. Remember him as a nuisance to the oppo all over the pitch.

    Yeah, fair's fair.

I think he'd lost a bit of appetite, and I wasn't surprised when he retired young, but I couldn't claim he was a non-tryer. He just perhaps wasn't the target man we employed him as.

    4-4-2………could be on the horizon?
Sounds good to me, especially at home, away might need something different with 1 up top. I said yesterday he has a squad of riches now and picking the 11 will see, as @Park bantam@Park bantam said, player rotation.

Little article on Hughes' opinion on 4-4-2.

We could easily play that, but it'll probably be a diamond or a fluid 4-4-2 incorporating attacking midfielders in my opinion.

Oliver & Angol/Cook up top, with Jamie Walker at the head of a diamond?

If we play 2 up top we need contrasting players. Harriet is quick. Playing him off one of Angol or Oliver could be a good fit especially with Walker in the hole behind. Think Cook will be 3rd choice unless his new physique gives him that extra yard required to be successful.

Can see Harratt getting game time for sure.

Might even start the season, he's looked sharper than Angol so far.

Maybe Cook will compete with Oliver.

I think it would be a shame if Cook left, but I wouldn't blame him anymore than Hornby for leaving if he felt opportunities would be limited.

I still think most defences would struggle mightily with Oliver/Cook, though, and hope we do see that.

From what people say he is likely to rotate heavily. It's a lovely problem to have if all his strikers are firing. Maybe they all get 60 or 30 mins a game. Hopefully that might be enough to keep them all happy

On nothing more than a hunch, I have a feeling that Oliver is going to quickly become a bit of a cult hero and firm favourite with fans
