We may have signed Vadaine Oliver........or we may have not.

 

But what’s Mark Lawn got to do with it ?

 

Not just rapid, apparently he’ll run all day. This boy could be impressive.

We look like we are building our best squad for 10 years.

He still manages to do all that even with the massive chip on his shoulder.

 

Not that we need an attacking midfielder, but just seen Wrexham have signed Elliot Lee today on a 3 year deal. If they don't win that league next season, you can only point the finger at Parky surely.

 

That could be said, although Cook did miss some sitters early season a free header from 6 yards out against Salford and an open net against Forest Green spring to mind, plus Oliver was at a higher level against some huge budgets.

Moving away from fan comments and onto Hughes(who’s opinion is the only one that really matters), if we bring him in I don’t think it’ll be because Hughes thinks he’ll get a load more goals than Cook. I imagine it’ll be his physical attributes to lead the line I think @bantamdave41 put something out earlier about how he wins a high percentage of headers. Hughes will probably take all his attributes into account such as hold up play, something that imo Cook lacks the ball stuck far better last few games of the season when Angol was leading the line.

As @Park bantam also said we can probably expect more rotation this year, it’ll be about what an individual can bring to the squad over if they’ll get 20 goals, as they simply might not play enough to get them sort of returns. Maybe Hughes still has plans for Cook, we’ll see.

 

Agreed. Despite this potential signing I can’t see Cook leaving. Angol could break down and that doesn’t leave us with much experience up top with just Cook, as Harratt and Young are young lads. We’ll have 4 strikers and it will be those. (Have I forgotten anyone?!)

Absolute BS. There would be a massive conflict of interest if he was City's lawyer and Oliver's representative and if you look at the whole twitter conversation, it's incredibly unprofessional.
