More noises from the T&A this morning with Sparks saying we know what key areas still need strengthening, but they won't be left until the last minute in the window. Also Parker noting outgoings, again naming Kelleher and Threlkeld.

What makes him think those two are outgoings....other than that they are the weakest players in the side? Any links to other clubs?

It’s a story probably planted by the club Tallinn. This is the second time they have been named as likely candidates. Could be a total severance or a season long loan to see out their existing deals?

Let’s hope so. They both aren’t good enough for this seasons ambitions.

I just don’t think they are needed as you say, unless we get a freaky bout of catastrophic injuries I can’t see them getting a game whatsoever.

Interesting article from Sparks, but personally I’d rather only Hughes and/or Gent do the transfer talk as I’m a believer in Sparks focusing on the business side of things and leaving football to the experts. I hope the below comment wasn’t to literal, he shouldn’t be having input into players only to say if they’re viable in the budget.

You are reading too much into Sparks “ input” . By that he means the financial side not football side of the “ input”

He has to have an input into where the money is being spent. He’s the CEO and if Hughes wanted to sign one player and blow the budget, he’d be quite within his rights to say no. Sparks input will be whether there’s a budget for said player, not who that player is would be my understanding too.

Even though they've openly said they aren't looking for a sustainable model at the lower levels, my guess is that its a book balancing option, as 5 days ago they bought their stadium back from a private owner. They already running upgrades on some areas of the ground too, along with buying land to make a new training facility.

It's probably some kind of fair play thing at a guess?

The budget is the most important part of the transfer process and as such Sparks will have the final say on what can and can't be done. The others will work within the remit Sparks sets

As I said in my final part regarding the budget I’m sure that’s the key part, although his words were an equal say doesn’t specify what role he plays in it.

Of course Sparks is involved though. He is in charge of the budget/purse strings.

And the footballing side aren’t negotiators that’s down to Sparks of course he has to be involved. He will have no input into player selection other than affordability
