Fun fact: Darren Anderton has made the most Premier League appearances for Spurs for an outfield player, very unfair he got stuck with the sicknote label!

Which then disproves the fact said player is coming because of Hughes. He’s probably never heard of him!

Now that has surprised me and I'd think many more.

He made played 364 games for Spurs in his time there from 1992 till 2004 that's 30 + games a season.

So over his 18 year career that's similar to his time at6 Spurs 30+ games a season.

I am, that’s not what I said though. If they’re both injured which is possible he’d be first choice with only Young as back up, both Angol and Carroll have had multiple long term injuries in their careers so it’s not impossible to say there could be a case of Harratt first choice with only Young as back up for months.

On more realistic transfer news, Dion Pereira played 45 mins for Luton on Friday and assisted Cauley Woodrow for Lutons 3rd of the night. He's traveled with the squad to Slovakia for a mini camp, but Jones said they are still looking for a loan deal to happen. Their fans rated his performance on friday.

I'm not sure any team could legislate for first and second choice strikers out for months, both at the same time.
    That's extremely unlikely.
Harratt as third choice would be very reasonable.

ML must be laughing into his pint!
Still…this is what pre season is all about. I’m enjoying logging in and reading who we’ve been linked to.

I'd maybe ask Steven Taylor's jaw what it thinks of Carrol's attitude! Think he's well known to be a complete loose cannon off the pitch

Sorry mate but you may have made some sense but the last sentence is more stupid than the story. You normally post good stuff but that last comment is ridiculous.

Amazed Berahino hasn't been thrown into this former PL striker circus. Released by Sheff Weds after a middling season of form and fitness. Turned down initial approaches from Bristol Rovers and Exeter as he is settled up north, apparently living in Manchester according to Sheff fans. Think Bristol have signed James Norwood since? Former Hughes player from his Stoke days, living somewhat close by.

Don’t know if there is any truth in the Carroll rumour and normally I would much prefer to avoid this sort of signing. But as an extra signing not a replacement for anybody it’s a win win he has never played lower than the championship but his game ideally suits this level he is good in the air something we have lacked for ages can hold the ball up and bring others in again something we have lacked and hopefully win some free kicks rather than giving them away.

Sorry mate I’m not following your logic are you saying because a first choice striker gets injured it reduces the chances of the second getting injured? Cook and Angol were both out at the same time last season and Cook isn’t injury prone like Carroll and Angol it wouldn’t be unlucky or unlikely it’d be because we were signing players with history of injuries something we have suffered with before.

Anyway pointless going around in circles as at this stage it is just a pre season rumour and we know how carried away people can get.

It truly baffles me that when there is a thread on this forum asking where the goals are going to come from, there are people getting excited about possibly replacing a forward that has scored 20 goals for us over the last season and a half with aging 'names' from higher up the pyramid that are either extremely non prolific or incredibly injury prone.

There are plenty of goals in this team Angol who has shown he can score goals Cook with improved service Harrat and Young Walker scores plenty and Eisa was a regular scorer for Scunthorpe. Carroll with his experience and style of play could be very useful
