Well he scored 3 in 15 at championship level that’s 9 or 10 over the season well worth a season for us with his experience

 

1k a week is not really a risk. Heavily based on bonuses and pay and play and he gets back to the North East. His attitude has never been questioned

 

2 less than Donaldsons last season in the championship well done. I’ve never said he’s not worth a punt if cheap, I’ve said it’s nothing to get excited about although I suppose it was Mark Lawn saying it so I’m not surprised it was over stated. We’ll beat Barcelona next week…

I never said it wasn’t worth a punt, still don’t understand what your point was. There’s also a lot of crap in the championship, as the likes of Josh Wright and Hope Akpan proved.

I'm saying whilst he's passed his best, he's played at a very good level last season, in two struggling teams and got 5 goals.

Signing Andy Carroll would be a big signing for a club at our level. Whether it would work out I don’t know but Probably a better bet than Cook besides Lawn was talking about a player from the premiership

 

He played like a donkey last season, that was with my own eyes. What I didn’t realise was he was only on 1k per week so it is worth a punt at that sort of price, not some big exciting signing that was made out though. He scored 2 goals for England 10 year ago, funny enough footballers do get worse with injury and age. Also he played for West Brom how were they a struggling team? They finished 10th and we’re in with a shout of the playoffs until game 44.

 

By the way Clayton was 36 when he came here Carroll is three years younger

 

He was 35 Park and 36 in the February, Carroll is 34 in January and has suffered more injuries. That can age the body more. I’m happy to bet Carroll won’t still be playing at 38 like Donaldson is at any level.

 

WBA won 7/22 in 2022.

We won 9/25 in 2022 and you know how bad we were.

 

Did they not end 10th though? Struggling teams were always those near the bottom to most, but I like the new logic let’s call top half teams struggling because we made a mistake and presumed they were without looking. Maybe he’s part of the reason for their dip in form, doesn’t really help his cause that they got worse when he came in…

 

Look I am not saying if this is true that it is a super duper signing but it is a big signing at this level. Carroll is good in the air and very good at holding the ball up and bringing others into play. He has brilliant experience. I wouldn’t expect him to play every match but he would be a good weapon to have

 

He’s a brute. He’s not quick and he’s way past his best and he’s always carried injuries, but if you want a physical presence up front in L2 does anyone really think Andy Carroll could n’t fill that role? He’d score 7 goals from corners and imagine feeding off the knockdowns if we are chasing the game and lump it to him? He’s a Duncan Ferguson mk 2. What ever it takes.

They had a terrible second half to the season. They were 4th at the turn of the year.
They only scored 22 in 22 this year.

You'd probably need to check the XG to see if that was a lack of chances created or poor finishing.
Either way, as you say he's worth a punt.
