Truth be told, Isn’t he more of a second striker? He’s not exactly a 20 goal season striker that would complement this team. I don’t see how he would fit. Not to trying to make it out like A midtable League Two team to date is too good for a player who has spent most of his career in the premiership, But if we were to sign him, he’d effectively be taking Walkers spot in the team which would make that signing a bit pointless

As for Joe Allen, Wasn’t he playing in the championship last year? So if we are allegedly in for a premier league player, it wouldn’t be him. An truth be told we have too many players in that position. Someone would have to go, which would be hard seeing as we signed 4/5 players for that position specifically during this transfer window

If a former premier league player is coming here, It’l either be a CB, RB, RW or Striker. Every other position is too stacked

 

Where has this comment with regards Mark come from, is it on the latest City Vent pod cast ?.

 

I dont think Shane Long is impossible. Has Sparky links, will be made for life financially and has played at the top level a long time. Not played as much as he will have wanted recently.

If the hunger is there to play and score goals, at 35 it isnt impossible.

I dont think it will be him but id never have said in a million years Hughes would take over from Adams. Never know.

There’s two things that make me think there is possibly something in this - the City Vent track record this summer & Mark Lawn is pally with the lads that do the media at City so if someone is signed sealed and delivered already it’s possible they would know.

Seems a bit far fetched to me. He has been at Southampton for a long time and a move to Bradford is a long long way(pun not intended). If he has a wife and kids at an important stage of education, they come into the equation as well. Also as JB says, he is not a prolific goal scorer tho' that should obviously change dropping 3 divisions.

 

Shane Long doesn't seem right to me. At that age you don't uproot to the other end of the country when you have viable clubs like Portsmouth, Reading, Oxford

 

Did I see a 3 year deal mentioned somewhere? Most players will move anywhere for a 3 year deal on good money, especially a 3 year deal when you are 35.
