A new (inexperienced) CH pairing. With Smallwood and Doyle giving that 'experience', Im thinking (actually bloody guessing) Lewis will get the early cup games to give him first team experience before being gradually brought into the league first team.

But, I may be well and truly wrong.

Harry Lewis hasn't left Southampton to come and sit on the bench Dave. I believe he will be given the number 1 shirt and will start in the first league game

Agreed with you, I think Lewis is nailed on to start.

Like Dave said, he's got very little experience and it's a risk and all, but it looks like a calculated one. I think Hughes is convinced this guy is better than L2.

Your probably right IB and I anticipate him to be no1 keeper but I'll stick my neck out and (be wrong AGAIN) that CD will start....

I know its totally different but I remember this same debate last season with ROD and SH.
Many said Hornby, I actually made a correct call. Two seasons on the trot? **so funny**so funny

Of course not and I'm not saying he will be, but don't forget he is a goalkeeper that hasn't played a meaningful game for 4 years. It's a possibility.

Doyle won't play unless he is willing to pass the ball out from the back.

There's a reason Hughes played Bass and not O'Donnell.

Doyle will be here primarily to coach but okay if needed.

Pleased to see all these young lads getting contracts even if there opportunities are limited we would be entitled to fees should they move on. Hopefully though there potential will be realised and some will become regulars

Did you see Bass pass a ball?

Half the time he was the opposition's best attacking outlet!

I know but its the modern way, isn't it? Take a risk, don't criticise if it goes wrong etc etc...

I don't know why,but I have a feeling Harry Lewis will turn out to be a very competent keeper.I don't think the club would have offered him a long,by league 2standards,contract,if they were unsure about him.

we have seen it before, Hughes has seen it before.

Gary Walsh, 10 years at Man U and only 50 games in that time due to being behind Schmeichel, and yet he was a phenomenal keeper as he proved when he left them and player for us and Boro.
